Description for GMC Sierra 1500 1992
There's nothing cooler than getting someone else's finished project for a fraction of the build price. This 1992 GMC 1500 pickup is the kind of truck that gets big attention anywhere it goes and probably cost a fortune to build thanks to custom paint, interior, and an LS1 powerplant under the hood. Today, however, it's available for pennies on the dollar, a high-profile rig with all the hard work already done.
There are a ton of tricks in this truck and the least of them is the vivid green pearl paint job. It's beautifully done and minimizes the gimmicks, so it won't look dated like so many other sport trucks. A few well-done pinstripe flourishes add just the right amount of color to really grab your attention and makes the paint job look crisp and clean. Modifications are extensive, starting with the cowl induction hood, billet grille, and smooth front bumper up front, a modified bed that allows for the slammed stance, and Cadillac taillights frenched into the ends of the tailgate. There's also a custom rear roll pan that's been molded in for a very seamless look. It's a fresh build, so the paint is spectacular and has a fantastic glow to it, especially in the sun. These were handsome trucks to begin with, but this one really takes it to another level without doing anything so radical that it becomes unusable.
Pickup trucks shouldn't look as good as this one does inside. Custom bucket seats are as subtle as the exterior is extroverted with high-quality gray tweed seat covers and custom door panels with a flame theme. The original dash has been painted to match, giving the interior a muted feel, and a factory-style center console provides a pair of cup holders and some out-of-sight storage. The original gauges have a white face with blue lettering that glows at night, and there are auxiliary gauges lining the driver's A-pillar to monitor temperature and oil pressure. Options include factory A/C, power windows and locks, a tilt column, and cruise control and an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo head unit fits neatly in the original cassette player's slot in the dash. The gauge in the center of the instrument panel monitors the suspension, which is fully adjustable from inside the cab.
Trucks like this aren't about all-out speed, so the Corvette-spec LS1 V8 offers plenty of power and performance for this sleek custom. It's fairly stock, but there are custom touches here and there that make it work well with the rest of the truck. There's the custom green engine cover, a chrome air intake, and a few other details that really make it look like it was born there. It's a slick upgrade that retains as much OEM hardware as possible and it certainly drives like a fully engineered piece. The front suspension is largely stock save for the adjustable suspension, while out back there are air springs that lay low without interference. A 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission makes it a comfortable highway cruiser, and with flashy 17-inch Torque Thrust wheels and staggered 255/50/17 front and 275/50/17 rear performance rubber, it has plenty to fill the big wheel arches.
Very affordable, this cool truck also attracts attention in a very big way. You couldn't duplicate it for twice the asking price, so go on and have some fun. Call today!
