Description for GMC Other 1968
1968 GMC C2500Time to let go one of my favorite trucks. This is one of those rare. unmolested time capsules that you hope to stumble across. This classic is very original and has only had one repaint (original color) during it's 47 years. I purchased this truck from a good friend who kept it garaged up at his cabin here in Utah. He was the second owner of the truck. making me the third. He used it to run back and forth to the lake (about 2 miles from his cabin) to go fishing. He only stayed at the cabin maybe half a dozen times a summer. So. the truck saw very little use and he kept it well maintained. The miles are original. the odometer has only rolled once! There is no documentation to prove that is the case. but careful inspection of the body and bed of this truck and you can see that the miles are most likely correct. There is no rot on this truck anywhere. NO RUST in the typical rocker panels. bed corners. and inner fender areas. This gem is SOLID. It even has the ORIGINAL WOOD BED. Not only is the body original and solid but the drivetrain is also original to the truck. It has the 327 CID V8 paired with the factory automatic transmission. It has factory air conditioning although it isn't currently blowing cold. The transmission shifts flawlessly and the engine runs fantastic. According to my friend who I purchased it from to his knowledge the engine has never been rebuilt. The power steering and brakes work great as well and she runs smooth and straight down the road. No rattles or squeeks to speak of. The truck drives really well. If the truck has been sitting for an extended period of time it does blow a little smoke when first started for about 10 seconds and from that point it runs clean and smoke free. The truck started out in Idaho orginally and made it's way to Utah nearly 20 years ago. He didn't purchase the truck as a daily driver. but rather for a truck to leave up at his cabin and use there. The interior is in great shape other than the wear on the drivers side seat. The truck has never been smoked in and has no bad odors in the cab. The original carpet is in great shape as is the dash. All glass is in good shape with no cracks. Tires are in nearly new condition. The front grille is cracked and dented on the drivers side (a cheap fix through LMC Truck). All gauges and lights work as they should. Never having been restored it does have a few dings here and there. The top edge of the tailgate has a couple dents as seen in the photos. The blue and white two tone paint is the original color on this truck. It has had one repaint many years ago. The patina on the hood is very cool in my opinion and the color combo looks great. I get thumbs up on this truck whenever I take it out. As you can see in the pictures it still cleans up really nice. The pictures do a good job of showing the condition of the truck. If there is something in particular you want to see that isn't in the photos please let me know and I will email you the pictures you want. Also. I do have the original dealer warranty book with the attached Protect-O-Plate. HOWEVER. I have somehow misplaced it and I'm still looking for it. If I find it before the auction ends and the truck ships I will send it along to the new owner. If I haven't found it by then I will forward it to the new owner as soon as I find it. BUT. in the event I do not find it then it will obviously not be included with the truck. Long story short. if I find it I'll get it to the new owner if I don't find it then there's no guarantee the new owner will get it. This truck is a great investment and candidate for a showroom restoration. Or. if you're just looking for a great classic truck to enjoy and drive "as is" that will only continue to go up in value then this is a great truck for you. If you have any questions please ask before bidding. It goes without saying. but I'll say it anyway … the truck is 47 years old and as such is being sold AS IS with no warranties or guarantees expressed or implied. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements but I will help all I can on my end to make sure all goes smoothly with your shipper. Good luck !!!
