Description for GMC 1/2 Ton Pickup 1947

A great presence, interesting history, and overall workman appeal makes this 1947 GMC 3/4 ton one of the most unique classic trucks you can pick up for quite a nice price.
This is the pickup truck that got American moving again after WWII. It looked a lot like the pre-war GMCs, but this EC-series was part of the first post-war push to get America ready for the home front. In fact, these are a rare sight, because they were only available in 1947, and GMC would change the style again before the end of the year. So these ECs are an interesting single-year designation. The two-tone green and black is a classic color combo that was applied later in life. But it has aged so nicely that many people might think it's original (it's up to you to tell them the truth!) And we really love the details on this one. From the General Motors Truck badging on the hood, to the color-matched wheel with GMC covers this just really shows off its period-correct flair. And because this is a longer wheelbase 102 model, you get to see even more of the real wood stakes on the side of the truck bed.
The interior is still working-class all the way, but that's all part of the vintage truck appeal. For example, the factory heater was a nice luxury to warm you on your way home from the job decades ago, and now it's just a nice original piece to show off to your friends. Plus, the durable bench seat and rubber floor mat is part of an easy-to-clean package to make maintenance a snap. And the three-spoke steering wheel has that great vintage feeling that instantly connects you to generations of hard workers that came before you. All of this highlights a truck that's still ready, willing, and able to go to work tomorrow.
When you open the classic butterfly hood, you'll see a true industrial motor. GMC's 228 inline-six looks absolutely correct with the oil bath air cleaner, single carb, and GMC logo cast in the head cover. But more than just correct, you can see from the belt and hoses that there has been the right maintenance on this motor. So it fires up readily with an indusial symphony that only a classic pickup can. Add in the correct three-speed manual transmission, and this is the kind of old-school driving experience that can make every day feel like a Sunday.
This 1947 GMC is a great classic pickup that can be driven to work or shows with plenty of pride. Someone gets to tell its story, and so you might want to hurry if it's going to be you. Call today!!!
