Description for GMC 630 Cummins 1954
You are bidding on a 1954 GMC 630 butterfly hood truck. The body was a Seagrave firetruck. Its sitting on a 1997 f800 bucket truck frame with a ******8.3 Cummins and Allison 5 speed****** automatic trans. The truck is a double frame. It has Air Brakes that are awesome. The motor starts and runs great. No blow by. It starts up quick and runs great. This is the 12 valve Cummins big brother!! Its has the mechanical injection pump on it!!! Can be turned up easy and free for some black smoke. It does not smoke at all when you mash the gas now. The donor truck only had 167k miles on it. The Allison transmission shifts good too. It has 22.5 steel one piece wheels. It could use 2 tires on the rear. The others are pretty good. The gauges from the donor were used in the 54 dash and fit good. All the gauges work except the tach and the fuel gauge. Even the air pressure gauge works on the bottom of the dash. The truck has power steering that works great. The body has a little bit of rust thru on the cab corners and the outer door bottoms. They have not been patched. Its not bad for the age of the body. We added an 1/8 sheet to the firewall for strength and function for everything to bolt up to. The 54 being a fire truck had very low miles. You can feel the low miles in the door hinges and latches. The doors open and shut nice. The windshield, back glass and wing glasses are good. The doors do not have glass in them. One has plexi glass in it. The regulators are there. The floors are solid in the cab. The bed can be removed easy if not needed or wanted. I did not get to wire up head or tail lights on it. The head light switch is there and the harness is ran to the front. The wiring harness is from the donor truck. I did wire up one brake light but I covered it up when I put that bed on it. So the brake light switch is there and working. I drove the donor home a couple hours when I bought it and it did great. Also after the swap I have but maybe 30 miles on it. Yes I painted over the headlights bulbs that need replaced anyway. She needs a big custom bumper made for it and it would look much better. The Truck is titled as a 54 GMC. Its a new title in my name. So transferring is no problem. My cell is 859-585-2659. Call or text with questions or offers. Id rather not trade on it.
