Description for GMC C3500 1963
1963 GMC custom cab 2 door crew cab - EXTREMELY RARE!I found this truck sitting, and I knew I had to have it. I located the owner, and made a deal. I put some fresh gas in it, new fuel lines, swapped a known good carb on it, and an ignition coil, and boom, it runs. It had a dry brake fluid master, so I swapped a new one onto it, and it now has brakes. It did have a flatbed poorly attached to the modified frame, so I removed that. Drove it around town a bit, down the highway, etc, and had a blast. Gathered up a bunch of parts for a wild build, and my dreams got shot down when a large winter job backed out, so I have to sell this unicorn. Specs are as follows.
1963 GMC custom cab - full custom cab trim, emblems, etc
Stageway built 2 door crew cab conversion(no badges but identical match to other documented 2 door stageway builds)
Tabbed, titled, registered in WA state35,xxx shown on speedo, no clue if rolled over or not.
Custom cab interior with dual visors, arm rests, suburban front seat for rear seat access, deluxe steering wheelSuburban front seat has flip forward passenger seat for rear seat accessFactory power drum brakes
307 engine that runs pretty well, with new ignition coilGranny gear 4 speed transmission and tailshaft e-brake all work properly
Squarebody rear frame section grafted on in the past with 14 bolt full floater and leaf springs, shortbed length16" wheels - tires are ok, some cracking but definitely good for rollers or driving around townRust - as all these trucks have, its relatively minor. Rust in rear quarter behind drivers door, door corners, fender bottoms, and slight in cab corners. Rust is not nearly as bad as almost every truck I've had roll through, but it is there.
You could totally restore this truck and have a wicked family hauler cruiser, or simply throw a bed on it and drive it. I purchased it so I could haul the whole family around to car shows in style, but having a large job back out just before winter, I am forced to put this up for sale. Clear title in my name, and I reserve the right to end the auction early.
