Description for GMC 1500 1963
For sale is my 1963 GMC pickup. I bought this in August 2018 and completed my work on it in December 2018. I registered it a few months ago and have enjoyed cruising it around, getting parts, etc, but I need more space in the driveway. The truck came from San Diego CA, originally purchased in California and I have the original California 1963 license plates. A guy had it shipped to Massachusetts, sat on it for a few months, and I got it from him. I have the CT registration from me, as well as the previous registration from California, as well as a clean Massachusetts title. I didn't give it to the DMV here because we don't require a title for classic vehicles, but I have it if you need it. It has the very first V6 motor ever created, the big block 305, and a SM420 4-speed trans. The truck was a camper special with two frame-mounted fuel tanks along with the in-cab tank, as well as camper special tires, and I believe mileage to be actual 64k. I have original wheels and tires, and the accessory tanks. I went through almost all of the truck, it runs and drives and stops and I have 100% confidence in taking this thing anywhere. I wanted to restore it to its original status so that anyone could buy it and drive it home without issue. I've driven it up to 50mph, and for about 2 hours at a time. Yes, this IS a classic pickup that you can drive home. You don't need a trailer for this one. All the lights work, all the gauges work, all the gears work. If you want to see a very exhaustive process of restoring it and seeing basically everything I did to it, google 63pickup Instagram, and you'll find the page I made for it with every photo. The only thing it needs is a carb clean and to wire the horn up (does not beep). The truck has a signal switch on the column but I didn't wire it up. I use hand signals instead. The truck usually needs some starter fluid to start after sitting, but it starts RIGHT up 100% of the time once it's warm with zero hesitation. I put several thousand bucks in parts on it. I tore down the motor and suspension and it has all new steering components. Rides and drives nice. Here is the list, and yes I have receipts for legitimately every single item. I'm probably forgetting a few things I've done, but you get the idea.New valve cover gaskets
