For Sale. The last 1987 GMC pickup. As far as square body GM trucks go. there is no 'rare' squares. However I have for sale. what one could call a unique piece. the last 1987 GMC Pickup and the last GMC pickup produced at the St Louis GM truck plant. This particular pickup was built on Aug. 8th 1987 in the GM St Louis assembly plant before the factory was shut down and razed. The story goes that GM offered by raffle. to the assembly line workers. the 'right' to purchase one of the last 2 pickups built. one GMC and one Chevy. The Chevy has been lost to time. but this is the GMC. As per a gentlemen's agreement between the plant manager and the raffle winner. the last St Louis GM plant manager drove this truck till the decommissioning of the plant was complete and the line worker took delivery of the truck on 11/06/87. The first owner. now retired. drove this truck sparingly till mid 2010 when the second fuel pump quit and he parked it in his garage. During its driving life. the truck racked up just 113. 40 miles. I purchased the truck in July of 2014. I took the truck to a retired GM mechanic and he installed 2 new AC Delco fuel pumps. a new fuel filter. a newer battery and the truck is now a running/driving vehicle. He took the truck for a short shake down drive of 4 miles round trip to make sure of his repairs. As it sits. the power windows are slow. but otherwise the truck is a complete and working correctly in all respects. The camper shell was installed new. when the truck was new and never removed. The truck does have its share of parking lot damage and roadway issues. The truck was undercoated when new and in the most part did a very well job of protecting the body. However the rocker panel drain holes were plugged and caused the rockers to rust and get into the cab corners. Also. the inner fenders have the typical GM rust. Otherwise the truck is rust free. The only paint work that has been done is the hood has been painted on the outside. According to the original owner. one spring he parked under a flowering tree that left purple spot on the hood what would never come out or buff off. Only the hood and only on the outside has been painted. I have and will go with the truck the original title issued in 1987 to the first owner. The state of Missouri was nice enough to void the title out and return it to me. do to the historical significance of the truck. I also have a good. clean Missouri title in my name. in hand. ready to be transferred to the new owner. Also included is the original. signed letter from the last GM Truck Plant. plant manager stating the status of the Last GMC truck from the St Louis plant. I have the original owner manual complete with St Louis plant embossing listing it as the ‘selling’ dealer. I honestly really don’t need to sell the truck. however I am a realist and realize that I have no need nor do I really have the time or want to. to correctly store the truck. I have listed this truck with a ‘Buy It Now’ which I feel is a reasonable price given its unique status. I have also put an option for you to make an offer if you feel our idea differ. If the truck doesn't sell. I may consider your offer and get back to you. I request a $500. non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction end. if you are the winner of this truck. The balance is due within 5 days by some way of certified funds. If you plan to pickup in person within those 5 days cash is preferred. otherwise I reserve the right to hold onto the title till the funds clear my bank.
