Description for Honda CRX 1988
Ok. here's the deal. I bought this car on eBay about two months ago now. It looked completely awesome. and I fell in love with it immediately. Being an honest person. I assume others to be honest as well. The seller described this vehicle as "mint" and in perfect mechanical condition. I'm not mechanically inclined. so for me to claim something like that. I would have brought it to a Honda dealership (as I have done and mentioned previously) and would be able to stand by my word. my point being. that's what I assumed the other seller did. This car. was NOT in mint condition. One thing is true. it does look good. has a fresh paint job. has a nice stereo. Bazooka speakers. and came with a lot of records and appears to have received regular service. However. as I mentioned above. it needed quite a bit of repairs to make it safe. I bought the car for $5. 00. After bringing it to Honda for a used car inspection. Honda gave me an estimate of $4. 00 to bring the car up to "mint" condition. Since I was already way more financially invested than I wanted to be. I asked how much it would cost to make it safe. hence the $2. 00 service bill. The rest of what it needs are mostly hoses. and I figured. someone with some mechanical ability could do this work and save a bunch of money doing it themselves. The following is the list from Honda of what still needs to be done:- upper and lower radiator hoses. thermostat. all heater hoses original. both rear struts leaking. trailering arm bushings broken. When I asked Honda why they didn't feel the need to do the above repairs. they assured me that they were minor and didn't affect the performance of the vehicle and mostly. they needed to be replaced because they were original. not non-functional. Because of my financial investment. and the dishonesty of the previous seller. this is probably going to be a loss for me. Therefore. at this holiday season. with a minor investment. this could be a nice gift for a CRX lover. even if it's yourself : ) Because the car was in Portland. OR. I also had to pay for shipping. another $700 (and he sent it with an empty tank of gas). So. my total investment is around $8200. By the way. based on the records. this has always been a west coast car. spending most of it's life in San Diego. But. despite everything. this is a very sweet car. After its most recent service. it drives super smoothly. Perfect! I did notice that it has a small fist size dent above the front driver wheel well. no damage to the paint. Since it has been through transport and towing twice. I didn't notice it. I don't know when this occurred. nbsp;It looks very easy to bang out (even something I could do). but I thought you should know about it. It's not very noticeable. which is why I missed it until just now. The rims are my favorite part of the car. They make the car in my opinion. They are totally sweet. I do not know the brand but it's probably in the paperwork. Also. the car has four Michelin Performance tires. with plenty of life left in them. Based on my measurements. nbsp;there is more than 4/32" of tread left on all the tires. There's an upgraded Sony stereo system and Bazooka speakers installed. I prefer quiet when I'm driving. so I cannot tell you much about this. other than I have the paperwork for this as well. Everything on the car works. The sunroof. the rear wiperblade. everything. Clutch is smooth and awesome. Windows are tinted. The car does not leak water when it rains. Contains original car instruction manual. You will be very hard pressed to find another CRX in this condition. The fresh paint job and no rust make this car a real looker. For a CRX lover. you're not going to find a better car. This is an extremely rare find. I'm getting rid of it. because it's a toy that I just can't afford right now. Feel free to ask me any questions you like. I will do my best to answer them. You will receive all of the paperwork that came with the car. including the most recent paperwork for the work that I just had done last week. Oh. and YOU will be receiving the car with a FULL tank of gas!I'm starting the bidding at the amount of the repairs that I just paid. If you're lucky. you can get this car for a steal. I will list it for a buy it now price for the money that I put into it. Please do not ask me to sell it for less. because I won't. However. it will probably go for less with the auction.
