Description for Honda Del Sol 1993

No Reserve!! 1993 Honda Del Sol 1. 5L Engine. Auto transmission MPG: 26 city / 33 hwy! Brand new battery Targa Top! Think Spring! Historic – cheap registration and insurance! Runs and drives but needs TLC. Good candidate for a Vtec swap? Please read the description fully and ensure that you can meet the obligations of this auction before bidding. As is stated above. this is a NO RESERVE auction for a 1993 Honda Del Sol. These are fun. reliable little cars. Great for summer because of the removable top. fun to drive because of their small size and light weight. and practical due to their amazing fuel economy! This one is definitely showing its age. and will need some work to bring it back to its former glory. but it runs and drives well. so it can be a “drive and restore” car. or buy it for the shell and do a vtec swap. coilover suspension. big brakes. etc. The 1. 5L engine runs well and does not overheat. smoke or have blow-by. I’ve just installed a brand new battery. so it starts every time. The automatic transmission shifts normally through all of its gears without any slipping. The 4-wheel disk brakes are strong. but it feels like the front rotors are a bit warped and due for replacement. The suspension feels average for the age and mileage. It’s not soft. but it’s probably time for some new shocks and bushings. My round-trip commute to work is 20 miles with half highway and half suburban driving. and it has performed well in both and has not given me any trouble. The interior of the car is in fair condition. The dash and center console are not cracked or faded. Carpets look good. but could use a cleaning. There is some sun damage on the tops of the door panels. The driver’s seat has a broken hinge. and will need to be replaced. The glove box hinges and latch are broken. The heater works great and will cook you on a cold day. There is A/C but I haven’t tested it because of the cold weather. The car has power windows. power mirrors and cruise control. The driver’s window is off the track. The radio is an aftermarket Pioneer head unit with a USB port. and it works well. The exterior of the car is perhaps below average for the age. The car is originally black. but has had a cheap. black re-spray. The trunk spoiler is broken. There are little dings here and there. There is some mild rust around the rear wheel arches. and a 1. 5” rust hole in the trunk. but other than that it appears solid. All of the lights work. and the factory alloy wheels are present. The tires are worn. This car is drivable as it is but it needs some work. It is a project. but would be great for someone looking for a small. sporty car. but wanting something different from the mass of hatchbacks out there. plus it has a removable roof and summer is just around the corner! This car gets great gas mileage and has the legendary Honda reliability. With the strong aftermarket support out there for these cars. a much better than stock suspension and brake set-up can be bought cheap. and installed in the driveway over a weekend without taking the car off the road. or it could be a full-blown race car project with a Vtec conversion. racing brakes and suspension. etc. This car qualifies for historic status. and that means cheap insurance and registration. and no inspections needed.
