Description for International Harvester Scout 1977
1977 International Scout SSIIThis is a very rare, actory original Scout SSII. It is equipped with a V8 304, speed, OSI TRAC, barrel, anual choke. It does have a fuel tank skid plate, oll bar, ront brush guard. This scout was sitting untouched for several years actually over 20...was brought back to life by the guy I got it from which did most of the repairs. It is all original never been repainted. The scout has had some mechanical repairs doneto it and ready for the road...it has been and currently a daily driver in nice weather. The front body mounts under your feet that always rust are in good shape and thefloors are in great shape. The exterior of the body is in good shape with surface rust, scratchesetc but no rust holes or soft spots at all that I can see other than one spot where arivetwas on the drivers side rocker about the size a dime or smaller. Both end caps have dents with the right being the worst. The decals/stripes have nicks, eals etc..Really amazingly solid for being original. The interior floors have had spray-on bed-liner sprayed in to protect them. It runs and drives good. The plastic door inserts have their share of blemishes, he original ones were in really bad shape so these used ones were put on to replace them.. These inserts have hinges on them for fiberglass doors, hich I do not have they were on the inserts whenacquired. The Scout is all original and what you might expect for a vehicle nearly 40 years old. The seats that are in it are notoriginal they are out of a 79 Scout which are very comfortable and in good shape. It's just a great summer vehicle to cruise around town or take to the trails! There have been some things that have been done to it the last couple of years. Like most vehicles of it's age it has oil drips etc, othing major. A couple things that are not working, s horn, adio, blinkers and fuelgaugestopped working recently, ssuming a wire??Becauseit was recently replaced and working...stopped and driving down the road it started working then went back to E. Done that a couple times.Tires have great tread. The 4wd works with no issues.
There have been several things the previous owner did to the scout when it was brought back to life all done within the last couple years....New poly gas tank and sending unit, ew body bushings, ew drivers mirror, ew brakes, elts, oses, hermostat, rebuilt carb with manual choke, tarter, e-cored radiator...this year, ew plugs, ew wires, pgraded prestolite distributor (original had external module with gold box on firewall).
