Description for International Harvester Scout 1978

I have spent the last 13 years tediously collecting parts and restoring this Traveler piece by piece. All work was done professionally and I have receipts for a majority of the work as well as the instruction manual. In those 13 years I have only put about 800 miles on it going from shop to shop. All the body work has been completed and all major rust removed although there was little as it was originally a CA rig. Rear of Traveler was customized with a Scout II tailgate (similar to a Terra) and Traveler fiberglass liftgate was shortened to create a more modern SUV type setup with 3 seat bench and cargo area in the back.Other than this the exterior appearance is very close to stock. Only thing left for the new owner to do is complete the interior to their personal taste.Mechanically this rig is super solid and I am confident that it could be driven a long distance without issue.

DRIVETRAIN:
1980 Nissan SD 33T Turbo Diesel Swap (These straight 6 cyl. motors were a factory option for Scouts in the 70's. Turbo was introduced for last few years of production of the Scout.Mileage is unknown but this was purchased and installed through a highly reputable Scout specialist. It cant be too many miles as it runs super tight and I've never had a single issue with the motor-with one exception:Ran B99 and it pulled debris from the tank through fuel lines and clogged injector pump. Tank was recently relined and all new fuel lines and injector pump. Really runs like new4 speed transmission is smooth and operates as it should. No slipping etc...
BODY:New Windshield and all rubber and weatherstripping has been replaced where necessary/available. Rebuilt window regulators
New Warn hubs/brakes and tires.New paint 7 years ago. There are a few issues with paint. See pics.
INTERIOR:Front cloth bucket seats are the correct style, but tan vinyl (as rear bench) was stockBedliner style coating on floorpan.
ELECTRICAL:All works. All lights and blinkers are operational (indicator lightbulb is out) for right signal at dashDash gauges are inop except DC charging. Speedo works but can spin on occasion.
A/C is installed in cab, but no compressor etc.Modern stereo is wired through glovebox to keep original appearance4 speaker holes cut in doors and by rear bench seat.
