Description for International Harvester Ice Cream Truck 1959
For sale is this 1959 International Metro Mite Ice Cream Truck. This truck is in good running condition and is currently being used as an ice cream truck daily. The only reason we're selling is because we need another truck that can travel at highway speeds. This truck tops out at about 35 mph. This would be the perfect truck for someone in a city that doesn't require highway travel. The motor in this truck is a BMC (British Motor Corporation) and was replaced in 2009 with a brand new one from KIP Motors in Texas. This company specializes in this motor along with many other parts to repair this truck. If you're unfamiliar with this motor, it's the same motor that was used in the Metropolitan Nash cars in the 60's.
The transmission is a "3 on the tree" shifter. The linkage sometimes slips while traveling in reverse, but all you have to do is shift it into reverse again. Our mechanic says that it is not a transmission issue, it's just the linkage. Just haven't had any downtime to get it fixed.
Everything you see in the photos comes with the truck with the exception of the freezer. The freezer is NOT included in the sale of this vehicle. Everything else to include the seats, music box and speaker, interior, rubber mats, etc. will be left in the truck.
As far as the exterior goes, our graphics will be removed prior to sale of the truck. However, the green and yellow stripes will stay on along with the ice cream signs, STOP signs, and the icicle graphics coming down from the roof.
You will notice in the pictures that some things are whited out. The only reason for this is to cover up our logo and phone numbers for our business.
There is no inverter electrical system in this truck. We used a Honda eu2000 generator to power out freezer.
$500 is due within 24 hours of sale or we have the right to relist the truck.
We will help arrange shipping of the vehicle. However, we will not be responsible for payment and or setting up the arrangements.
