Description for International Harvester Scout 1969
This 1969 International Scout 800A came from the factory with a 304 V8 and a Borg Warner Automatic Transmission. It is very rare to find a Scout with these options, much less find one that has low original miles that has not been altered in any way. Even the original AM radio with the original Dash Speaker works like new. All of the dash gauges work correctly, as do the horn and all of the lights other than the back ups. This is the first Scout 800 out of 14 that I have owned, that still has the original plastic guides attached to the front of the side windows. Unlike most of them, the door glass rolls up and down very smoothly. Also a first is the original International Key that is used for the ignition, doors, and tailgate. The ignition has usually been changed by now, but no need here. Other than a replacement muffler and tail pipe, the exhaust system is original and has no leaks. I have the receipt for that work as well as the receipt for all four shocks done at the same time. There was some rust in the lower front quarter panels that is caused by mud build up that even the driest desert cars still have, but it was all cut out and new 16 gauge replacement panels were welded in. The lower inner panels were also replaced at that time. Here is a list of what has been done to it recently:
· Body sanded down to bare metal or original paint and sprayed with epoxy primer. Entire body hand blocked with 2K primer three times, then sealed with epoxy sealer and sprayed with a very high quality Basecoat Clearcoat finish. The original Lime Green single stage color code from the Line Setting ticket was converted to a PPG Base/Clear code that matches perfectly. All Glass, Bumpers, Door Handles, latches, locks, etc. were removed prior.
· New Green Tint Windshield Installed w/ New Rubber
· Steering wheel, window frames, rear seat frame, interior heater box, plus other trim pieces all painted with Base/Clear Black
· Floors were all in Excellent, Rust Free Condition, and were Epoxy Primed and Sprayed with Raptor Bed Liner
· Super Rare Original Front Bumper Guards in nice shape
· New Clesters (Best Quality) Door Weather Striping
· New Top Weather Striping
· New Belt-Line Weather Striping
· Matching numbers 304 V8 with freshly rebuilt Holley Carb
· Original Borg Warner Three Speed Automatic with fresh fluid change and permanent filter removed and cleaned
· Dana 44 Rear End W/ Powr-Lok. Info Stickers still on inside Glove Box Door
· New Wheel Cylinders and Brake Shoes on all four corners, plus new brake lines where needed
· New 18" Aluminum Wheels with new Goodyear Wrangler 265-60-18 Tires
· New Chrome Splined Lug Nuts
· Previous owner was going to put in the electric wiper conversion kit, but only managed to remove the vacuum hoses, so the original system is still all there, but not functioning
· Still has a working windshield washer system, but there is a leak in the bottle
· New Glove Box Insert
· New Chrome Outside Rearview Mirrors
· New Replacement Side Marker Reflectors. 1969 was the only year for these
· Both fuel tanks and their compartments cleaned out, plus both senders removed and found to be in excellent condition
· New Crawler Proven Technology Clear Anodized Gas Caps with Mounting Flanges for both Tanks
· New Custom Hood Struts that dramatically improve opening and closing the hood. The original prop rod is still in place
· Original Sun Visors in amazing condition
· Scout was converted to the Pickup Top w/ Bulkhead that can be easily removed for the Summer. The top was also painted the correct color of white from the Line Setting Ticket, and the rear window was installed with new rubber. I will sell a full traveltop to the winner of the auction if it is wanted, as they are completely interchangeable
This is an excellent running and driving Scout. It really gets the attention everywhere it is driven. As with all used vehicles it will be sold "as-isâ€, so please ask any questions ahead of time, and please only bid if you have cash in hand. If you need to get a loan or want it professionally inspected, this must be done Before the Auction ends. I will need a 500 dollar deposit at the close of the auction by way of PayPal, with the balance due in the form of Cash, Cashiers Check or Bank Transfer within 5 Business Days. All checks will need to clear my bank before the Scout can be released. It will come with a Clear Oregon State Title in my Name.
Thanks, TJ
