Description for International Harvester Other 1965
1965 Inernational Harvester 1100C 2WDThis truck was a Montana truck all it's life. I had been sitting for many years in an enclosed garage. The gentleman that owned it is now well into his 90's and his Son decided it was not going to get back on the road so I bought it and put it in running and driving condition. The 1965 model is the ultimate old school cool with the awesome grill and simple designs. I just love how well these truck were built. Much better than any Dodge. Chevy or Ford of that time. MechanicalThe engine is a refreshed 345 CI V8 from a 1970 Travelall with very low miles. It has a rebuilt Holley carb. I have the original 266 motor and it is complete. but the compression was low on a couple of cylinders so I did not rebuild it. I had the 345 and it was a good fit to get this truck down road. Everything under the hood is reconditioned or new. I spent more on the rebuild than I did for the truck. I have an extensive parts list and receipts that go with the truck. It has all new brakes and brake lines. new brake and clutch master cylinder. new 12" clutch and much more. Manual choke start the engine nicely and she runs and idles perfectly. Manual steering is tight on this one. All the hard work has been done on this old girl already. It still needs an emergency brake cable. Gas tank was cleaned and refurbished. ElectricalIt is all original and in good working order. The generator was upgraded to an alternator. I has a new Duralast Gel Cell Battery. Headlights. turn signals. brake lights. heater motor all works. Original gauges except for the AMP gauge. The Temp gauge works sometimes. Fuel sending unit works. Interior Everything is there and in decent order except the seat has original vinyl on it and crack on the driver side so there is a seat cover. I would redo that in a dark brown vinyl. I pulled out the floor mat. It was brittle and useless anyway. The windshield has a crack and the passenger door roll up glass has a crack. The windows roll up and down like new. The wings are in good shape. The door hinges are all in good shape and they shut like a vault. Better than any C Series I have. I would replace the door weatherstrip after the truck is painted. Windshields can still be sources easily from Safelite last I checked. Rear glass is nice. ExteriorThe original color was a sweet turquoise color as you can see on the interior pictures. Back in the day when the paint faded. it was common to hand lacquer over the paint to preserve the body. That is what the ordinal owner did when he painted it green. The body is very solid. There is patches in the front cab floor. It won't need full floor pans and I would just re-weld in patch panels. There is rust on the lower rear front fenders as shown in the photos. The passenger side has a scrap as shown. The roof needs a small patch as shown. The rest of the truck including the bed is solid and the sheet metal seems much heavier on this truck than later C series models. I would have this truck water stripped. fix the few small areas and paint it back the original color and she would be gorgeous. This truck is ready to be enjoyed now and you can fix it up the cosmetics as you see fit. The original rims have Tiger Paw White Strip Radials that have good tread. but I'm sure they have have some age. They don't make them anymore to my knowledge. They aren't even cracked or dry rotted. Maybe because the owner garaged it and put it up on jack stands. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Check out some of my other trucks for sale as well. Contact me. I may have what you need and I have not listed it yet. Thanks for looking.
