Description for International Harvester Scout 1978
1978 International Harvester Scout II 4x4 with only 6522 miles. I purchased this Scout from theoriginal owner who bought it new in 1978. I have a copy of a title in the original owner's name that states "2232 Actual Miles" dated 12/3/91. This is the date that the Scout was transferred from his name to his family's business. He only used the Scout as a utility vehicle for his business. Based on the amazing condition of the original interior seats dash steering wheel headliner vinyl floor mats AM radio and glass the current mileage iscertainly believed to be original and accurate.Theoriginal numbers matching v304 engine runs strong and the 3-speed automatic transmission shifts great. Theoriginal color was #2150 - Harvester Red.The original owner professionally repainted the Scout #2289 - Flame Red in 2003. He kept the inside of the tailgate original paint. The paint still looks fantastic and has a nice shine. I found a small bubble on the lower passenger side door approximately the size of a dime. There isalso asmall chip on the driver side front quarterpanel. The gaps are nearly perfect and the top has never been removed. The hubcaps spare tire and cover are original. All weatherstripping appears original with the exception of the driver's doorwhich I recently replaced with new material from Super Scout Specialists. I've included photos of the underside. As the original owner used this Scout as a utility vehicle there is some surface rust. He had the rustproofing sprayed on the Scout at the time of purchase (original documents available). The rustproofing helped preserve this beautiful Scout. All lights and gauges work even the fuel gauge. The Scout has been stored in my garage since the day I brought it home. Recent tuneup including K&N air and oil filters. It's running great!I have the following documents included with the sale:- Original Line Setting Ticket (Built on June 12 1978)- Copy of Line Setting Ticket on the glove box door (has never been removed)- Original Owner's Manual- Original Sale Invoice and Order Form- Orignal IH Owners Service Policy- Original Ziebart Rustproofing Receipt- Copy of Massachusetts Certificate of Title dated 12/3/91 stating 2232 actual miles- Complete set of Service Manuals (2 volumes 1 is original and 1 is a reproduction)Also included is an original rear floor mat that I haven't had a chance to install.I had planned to keep this Scout for much longer. However I don't have the space nor the time to enjoy it. It's a blast to drive and people flock to it wherever I go. I truly hope itfinds a great new home. Please feel free to ask questions.Buyer is responsible for shipping. I'd be more than happy to help with the coordination.
