Description for Jaguar XJ6 1976
I purchased this car in 2007 froman elderly gentleman in Cleveland and it has henceforth been known as the "Cleveland Jag." It is a solid car that I purchased mainly so that I could go to car shows with my Dad and I needed a pre-80s car to go to most shows. He passed away in 2013 and I inherited his show car so I need to sell this on to make room. It originally had the automatic chokes but the previous owner removed them and put on a manual choke. It starts up every time and has good oil pressure. I have replaced a bunch of things: alternator, ebuilt carbs, eplaced seats with a used set in better condition, eplaced dashboard, ut original chromed steel wheels on it, ires, attery, tc. I have all the receipts and will pass them on with the car. The air conditioning has never worked. It may be a simple charge is needed or more. The previous owner put electric fans in and it has never overheated. The previous owner also put on the cam retainers which can work loose in this era of engines. Both gas tanks work and do not leak at all. All the gauges work as do all of the exterior lights. There is rust in the front of the floorboards, round the tailpipes, nd in the core support under the radiator. It has been stored in my garage since 2007 and has not gotten any worse. It is a great car to drive, t gets lots of looks and comments, nd because these Series 2 cars are fairly rare, ou will be the only one at the car show with one. I decided a while ago to preserve it as is and not restore it. It is just a fun car to drive around in.
