Description for Jaguar E-Type 1962

You are bidding on a 1962 Jaguar E-type, KE, eries 1, ixed Head Coupe, lat Floor, pright/ flat bulkhead behind seats, ith aluminum dash & console. Factory original color "Carmen Red" on Black leather with a 3.8L DOHC.
The Jaguar was previously owned by an Airline Pilot for 27 years who had hobby interests in both vintage planes and sports cars. This car has been stored in his private airplane hangar for the last 15 years of ownership, have included pictures as found in the hangar.
The XKE was imported by Jaguar of Eastern Canada, ontreal Quebec, ut was purchased new by a Mr. W. F. Wood in Toronto, ntario, anada and has resided in Toronto (and surrounding area) for its entire life. Being a Toronto car it has suffered from the usual floor plan, ocker panel & spare wheel well rot. The driver's floor has had anamateurrepair done, nd the passenger side for the most part is original but with a small patch riveted in. The body has had body work done over the years and there is plenty of 'filler' in several areas of the body. The bonnet shows ripples near the beading strips on both sides and is generally wavy due to poor workmanship.
The Jag hasreceivedtwo respray's, ne in white during the early 80's and another in the early 90's in a shade of red close to the factory original color. During the 80's refurbishment of the interior was done. The seats were recovered in a burgundy leather along with the door and rear deck side panels. The headliner, onsole, nd side cargo panels were re-covered in a burgundy velour.... very popular at the time, s many new cars were finished in velour.
The exterior paint was OK when done, ut has suffered fromamateurbondo patch work and paint blow-in from a rattle can.
Mechanically it is in non-running condition, ut the engine does turn freely. It is a non-matching numbers car, ut does have a period correct 3.8L Jaguar engine (the gearbox & remaining drivetrain is believed to be the original as per the previous owner). The triplecarburetorsare long gone, nd have been replaced with a later twin SU carb. conversion, he rest of the running gear is original to the car. The brake and clutch hydraulics are not functional (no fluid in reservoirs) but the vehicle does roll easily and the gearbox can be shifted through all the gears.... the car steers as it should.
The Data Plate located on the passenger side just forward of the firewall was badly deteriorated beyond salvage. I tried to remove it to piece it together and put it into a ziploc bag but it came apart in so many pieces that it wasn't worth keeping. So, have therefore acquired the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Certificate for the car which provides all of the engine, earbox, ody numbers etc.... that correspond to the VIN # on the front frame. With the Heritage Certificate & vehicle registration, was able to acquire a New Data Plate which reflects the original data plate & Heritage Certificate information (see pics). The vehicle VIN # stamped on the front right frame cross-member matches the registration and when searched through the Jaguar Heritage Foundation & Registry, omes up as a 62' LHD Fixed Head Coupe.
In myopinionthe car could be put into mechanically 'running condition' with little effort and would make a 'good driver ' as is. To take it beyond this, t would require a full restoration.
There are no extra parts, ools, r jack.... what you see is what you get.
The series 1, lat floors, re of the mostdesirable of all the XKE series, his car for the most part is original and complete with a solid foundation. The vehicle shows no sign of previous accident damage. I have tried to take pics of all aspects of the car, don't have a hoist which makes it difficult for taking pictures of the underside, owever on request I will lay underneath and take some photos.
If you want specific pictures please feel free to ask, will do my best toaccommodate. Ask as many questions as you like, will respond quickly and asaccuratelyas I can.

I am willing to ship WORLDWIDE & will assist with shipping arrangements.

Given that I am located in Canada, ome US & offshore buyers may be reluctant to bid given the border crossing and or importation paperwork required to import the vehicle to their home destination. I can assist with providing the buyer with contact information to an international transportation company (specializing in relocating vintage and classic cars worldwide) that can safely and at a reasonable cost transport the vehicle. I have personally used this company several times and have been extremely pleased with the pick-up & delivery.
