Offered for sale, rom KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, s this very pretty Jaguar MK2 Sedan with the most desirable specifications of the 3.8 liter engine coupled with the 4-speed Overdive gearbox. This car was recently purchased from it's East Coast owner, ut spent nearly all of it's life in the dry state of Arizona.
As a result, he body on this car is exceptionally solid and rustfree, ave for a few small typical bubbles just starting in the lower doors / wheel spats. This car is very dry underneath, ith no evidence of any sheetmetal repairs, till retaining the original factory undercoating. The paintwork is very presentable, ut upon close inspection it's showing some age with some micro-blistering, few small chips and some cracking. However, he car looks very attractive as a driver with a mixture of newly replated and some nice original chrome. The windshield has been replaced with a newer, orrect Triplex item.
The car has been retrimmed at some point with matching blue vinyl. The carpets and wool headliner appear original and in decent condition. There is a small hole in the headliner above the RH rear seat area. The wood overall looks good and in keeping with the condition of the rest of the car. All of the instruments function properly except the tachometer is sticking. I havent tried the A/C unit, ut they usually need charging up...
The engine starts very easily on the button and sounds very healthy. All of the fluids are clean and up to the mark. There are no unusual sounds, o smoke, il pressure is very good (even when hot), nd the valve clearances sound correct. Once fully warmed up, he old girl still has it ! These fast manual shift saloons can be so much fun to drive. It can be pushed nicely through it's 4-speed Moss box with very nice action and a working overdrive unit. The brakes pull a little left with some judder, f applied hard, but I'm sure it's just a minor sorting out.
Overall, this nice looking/driving car presents a good opportunity to acquire a desirable 3.8 Liter Mk 2 in manaul / overdrive specification. The car has lived most of it's life in the kind Arizona climate.
These cars are on the move as of late in the current market, nd this vehicle offered here is good value for an instantly usable classic Jaguar.
