Description for Jaguar E-Type 1961

Rare 1961 SR I “FLAT FLOOR” E-type Jaguar (For more Photos. Information. nbsp;and a Video. go to www. customshowboards. com/61jaguar. ) E-type Jaguar - Consistently Voted “Most Beautiful Car Ever Produced” "FLAT FLOOR" - Most sought after E-type Jaguar ___________________________________________________ Production began for the E-type Jaguar in March of 1961. The first few E-types produced have unique features; including a flat floor board which gave these early E-types the nick name “Flat Floors”. The Flat Floors are very rare and the most valuable of the E-type Jaguars. They are rapidly on their way of becoming the next “Million Dollar” sports car. The recent auction prices for Flat Floors are rapidly exceeding $500K. The current record. at the 2014 Gooding Auction in Monterey. was $528K. Prior to the Monterey auction. there were three other Flat Floors that sold in the $340-450K range through both Gooding and Bonhams auctions in the 2013-2014 timeframe. At the rate these cars are appreciating this is truly a case where “You can't pay too much. you can only buy too soon”. The early E-types are an engineering stroke of brilliance. and are one of the most attractive. sensuous and evocative designs ever to grace an automobile chassis ------ as quoted by one automotive critic “Sex on Wheels”. Upon its introduction. and still today. nbsp;the E-type Jaguar continues to win numerous awards for the most beautiful production car ever produced. The E-type's design is an artful blend of race car and road car. It was the product of five years of development and borrowed much from the preceding race cars coming from Coventry; the famous “C” and “D” Type Sports-Racing Cars. The monocoque passenger compartment. tube framed engine bay and tilting hood clearly came from the D-Type. The early E-types. including the Flat Floors. also included a High Performance Triple SU Carburetion System and a sporty race car interior including a turned aluminum dash and console panels. toggle control switches. and race style bucket seats. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ This Number's Matching 1961 SR I E-type “Flat Floor” being offered for sale is one of the finest Concours level SR I E-type Show Cars on the market. It's truly a piece of art; the car's Laser Straight sheet metal. Consistent body panel gaps. and Brilliant Opalescent Silver Blue Paint Finish sets this car apart from any other E-type on the market today. The same attention to detail is carried throughout the car including the trunk area. engine bay. under carriage. and exterior making it a Superb Investment Quality Car. I have been collecting. restoring. and showing Classic Jaguars for 40 years. and I am currently an active member in the Classic Jaguar Community as a technical advisor. and over the years I've served as a club officer/board member. and judge at various shows. This car is one of many E-types I’ve collected and restored over the past 40 years; it is the flagship of my collection. I have owned it for over 20 years and since its recent restoration I've driven it very sparingly and it has been used ONLY for show. The car has ONLY 54. 00 original miles since new. and approximately 1000 miles since being restored. As seen by the photographs the restoration was very comprehensive. It was done at an astronomical cost with no expense spared. The car was a solid straight 2-owner car when I purchased it; not something pieced together and restored over cancerous sins that will surface over time. All of the sheet metal is the original factory sheet metal as you'll see in the restoration photos. If you take the opportunity to call me you will learn that I am very meticulous and you will have a better understanding as to the quality level of this car. The car also comes with many rare accessories typically NOT FOUND on most of the early SR I E-types on the market today including. but not limited to. the Rare Removable Hard Top. Optional Tonneau Cover. Workshop Manual. Owner's Handbook. Boot Cover. Center Console Protector Mat. Seat Belts. Car Cover. nbsp;Custom Show Board. Jaguar Specification Sheet. Show Floor Mats. and Original and Very Rare Tool Roll. Bottle Nose Jack. 1961-62 full aluminum insert Steering Wheel. and Original Radio Console. The Convertible Top. Tonnearu Cover. and Boot Cover are all made of high quality Stayfast material. This car also sports Dayton Stainless Steel Polished Wire Wheels. a Porcelain Exhaust Manifold. Stainless Steel Exhaust Pipes. etc. In terms of documentation. the car includes a Heritage Certificate of Authenticity. and Detailed Documentation and Photos of the car's restoration. As collector cars continue to become a primary investment in many people's financial portfolio. investors / collectors are looking for the best of the best to secure their investments. The 1961 E-type “Flat Floor” is the Holy Grail when fulfilling this investment requirement. They are Rare. Exotic. First of the E-types. and truly an important milestone in both Jaguar's history and the world of sports cars. I will consider a trade: especially involving another Sports Car but I'd prefer it to be a British Sports Car (i. e. Jaguar. Austin Healey. MGA. etc. ). or British Motor Cycle. The car is available for viewing; just contact me and I'll arrange a time for you to see it prior to the end of the sale. Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer.
