Description for Jaguar E-Type 1969
1969 Jaguar E-Type coupeI am extremely pleased to have the opportunity to present this 1969 Jaguar E-Type coupe. Finished in the beautiful combination of Silver exterior over Black interior, this "Series II" E-Type, with its 4.2 liter inline 6 cylinder engine, is a lovely example of an original and unrestored E-Type that can be driven and enjoyed.
But, what makes this car even more special is that it had a single owner from 1970 through 2014, almost its entire existence! Yes, you read that correctly; the person who owned this car for 44 years purchased it new in Sacramento, CA in February 1970. He was an airline pilot who obviously cared for this car tremendously and took the utmost care of it. In 2014, it traded hands to another California owner, and in 2015 the current owner purchased the car, where it has resided as part of a large collection in Houston, TX. This owner has now consigned the car through my dealership for sale.
I have personally driven this car, and you can really tell whether a car has never been "taken apart and put back together". From the feel when you shut the door, to the smoothness of the engine, to the feel of the shifter,to the way the car drives down the road, it's obvious that this car is a true time-warp survivor. The odometer shows 12,058 miles, but it has turned over, so the correct mileage is believed to be 112,058 miles, which is also supported by the service history and receipts.
The floors, sills, boot floor, "picture frame", and all stampings are original. As are the wheels and spare, and the jack is correctly date coded. The paint is an older repaint, but still showing very presentably. And, the interior has a slight but entirely acceptable patina, exactly what you would expect to see in such an original and unmolested car. Mechanically, the car is completely up to date on service and needs nothing.
Jaguar E-Types have appreciated dramatically in the recent past, but the Series II has not moved in value as quickly as the earlier Series I and I 1/2 cars. In reality, the Series II cars are arguably nicer to drive and somewhat more reliable than the earlier cars, and should not be overlooked by an astute collector who desires a car that not only can be an important part of a collection, with the potential for value appreciation, but one that can also be driven regularly as well. Pre-purchase inspections are welcomed and encouraged, and I look forward to discussing this fine motorcar with you. Please contact Michael Foertsch at michael@mbrandonmotorcars.com or 832-617-0494.
