Description for Jaguar E-Type 1963
This Series 1 Jaguar E-Type Roadster is manufactured in 1963. It has a 3.8l 6-cylinder engine, 265hp and 3 S.U. carburetors. His second and current owner bought it in 1964 in San Francisco from the British Motor Car Distributors company. It had at the time around 10.000 miles on it. Today, after more than 50 years of being driven as a pleasure car, it has 68.500 miles and is in excellent condition. This car is completely accident free, has no rust on it and comes with full documentation from the very first day it was bought, as with the original Jaguar E-Type manual. It is parked in a garage and maintained on regular basis. What makes this E-Typeunique? In 1978, the owner ordered a new improved engine from England. It was shipped to San Francisco and installed instead of the original one. The original engine was made to work using a higher octane gasoline that has been used at the time, and the commercial gasoline was getting a decreased octane level as time passed by, therefor good performances could not be expected. The new engine was designed and built to reduce the compression and meet the lower octane level of gasoline on the market. The original engine is stored and is sold together with this car. Breaks have been improved by installing boosters. Also, some minor changes have been made throughout the years to improve the cooling of the engine and the overall performances. Still, the authenticity is preserved.
The well known E-Type Jaguar sign bars that are originally standing on the front and the back of the car are sold with the car, but are not on the pictures as they were taken off by the owner as a matter of personal preference.
This E-Type Jaguar is ready to ride. The car’s body and the engine are in excellentcondition with no rust, and are therefor a good basis to be worked on if any personal customization is desired.
