Description for Jaguar E-Type 1969

This is a fine example of the iconic E Type fixed head coupe, considered by many to be among the most beautiful cars ever built, in primrose yellow, its original factory color. This one was purchased originally in California (yes, it really is a rust free California car), and remained there until 2008 when we brought it to the Midwest. We are the third owner of this car, which has been in the family since the late 1990s.
This is an essentially original, numbers matching, unmolested car. The only modifications are the addition of a pointless ignition (which can easily be reverted back to a stock point system if desired), a new, non-Lucas alternator, and triple Weber carburetors. We still have all of the parts for the original induction system, and these are included with the car.

The car has never been restored but was refreshed this summer. Nearly all of the rubber seals and rubber trim parts were replaced (including the windshield and rear hatch window). It was repainted, and the interior has been completely reconditioned. including new carpet. All the bits are there. The engine was partially rebuilt less than 5000 miles ago including a complete rebuild of the head, cylinder honing and new rings. The clutch slave cylinder and alternator were this summer. There are signs of age and normal wear in the chrome with some minor pitting and flaking (wheels).

The car is in excellent shape -- looks, runs, sounds, and drives great. That said, this is not a concours car (which is why we're not asking more than $100K). While not perfect, it does show well and always gets lots of attention. Just the other day, a gentleman who stopped to talk about the car asked me if it gets lots of attention from "the beautiful ladies." Well, not so much. The beautiful ladies can't figure out what this thing is -- toothless old dudes, however, will honk, wave and give you lots of thumbs up signs. If you're fishing for one of them, this is the bait for you! Otherwise, you're in it for the love of the car and the Jag community.

This car is equipped with 4.2 liter engine, four speed manual gearbox, factory air (complete but not functional, leather seats and (some) trim, knock off wire wheels, telescoping wood/aluminium steering wheel, factory AM/FM/SW radio (no working presently - I believe it's a fuse, but haven't had time to address this yet).

Extras include the original carbs/manifolds (in fine working order when removed), various spare parts, any AC parts that are not currently installed, a set of new exhaust pipes, and a lot of documentation that my father accumulated (but I haven't gone through).
