Description for Jaguar E-Type 1969
1969 Jaguar XKE Series II 2+2 Coupe showing 67,684 miles offered by Gas Monkey Garage! The E-Type was initially designed and shown to the public as a rear-wheel drive grand tourer in two-seater coupé form. On its release Enzo Ferrari called it "The most beautiful car ever made"! Hallmarks of Series 2 cars are open headlights without glass covers, a wrap-around rear bumper, re-positioned and larger front indicators and tail lights below the bumpers, better cooling aided by an enlarged "mouth" and twin electric fans, and uprated brakes. The interior and dashboard were also redesigned; rocker switches that met US health and safety regulations were substituted for toggle switches. A new steering column was fitted with a collapsible section in the event of an accident. When I found this well preserve example of the iconic Jaguar XKE, owned by a very enthusiastic admirer of the XKE, I knew I had to act quickly to secure it. He was able to enjoy and maintain it as it should have been until he was no longer able to enjoy driving it anymore. At that point he focused on maintaining and preserving it in an indoor building and this preserved the floors and tub from the fate of most E-Types (rust) and the result is this extremely well preserved, but not restored XKE Coupe. Please see all pics (especially the spare tire tub!) The doors and hinges are extremely solid and tight. This 1969 Jaguar XKE has been stored since 1979 and wasn’t started or driven for quite some time, therefore it will need to be completely serviced before attempting to drive it for the first time after all these years to insure safety and reliability. Due to our filming schedule we will not be able to service this XKE (sold as is/where is).The exterior is in good condition with small nicks and scratches and“crazing “of the paint on the hood as well (see all pics). All of the chrome bumpers and trim are present and in good condition with some pitting (see all photos). The interior is also in good condition with good, solid carpet (again, see all pics!). The dash is complete and clean. The seats are complete and operational with clean, solid upholstery. All door panels, interior panels and the rear luggage compartment are in good condition making for an easy restoration if desired. The headliner is sagging. The engine compartment appears original and unmolested having been maintained throughout the years (again, see all pics).Underside pics reveal a solid tub and mechanical components that are unmolested with minimal rust present. This rare 1969 Jaguar XKE is located in Dallas Texas and the winning bidder may have the option of taking delivery here at the shop or we'll help with shipping logistics. If you’re looking for a good, solid example of the iconic 1970 Jaguar XKE 2+2 Coupe in great condition you won’t find a better example that’s priced to sell! We sell internationally as well as locally and will end the Auction when it sells. LOW FEEDBACK BIDDERS WITH LESS THAN 5, PLEASE SEND YOUR PHONE # & EMAIL TO "ask seller a question" BEFORE YOU BID. See all pics & ask any questions. And as always, all of our T-Shirts, Hoodies, Hats and Stickers are available on our website.
