Description for Jaguar E-Type 1967
1967 JAGUAR E-TYPE 4.2 LITER SERIES 1 COUPE --Black with Red leather interior and Red carpeting, 55,000 Original miles, 4-speed manual gearbox, Matching numbers, Jaguar Heritage Certificate, Chrome wire wheels. "The Museum of Modern Art in New York City placed a Jaguar E-Type in its permanent exhibit. The E-Type was just the third car to be honored by the curators of the museum's permanent exhibit. Released in 1961, the E-Type was the first model released by Jaguar Motors after a disastrous fire destroyed the company's production facilities in 1957. The car's sleek lines made it an immediate success. The E-Type is the epitome of Jaguar's exquisite feel for body design. The car is literally a work of art." This E-type is in preservation condition, it has only been restored when and where needed. It is finished in its original color combination as originally delivered when new on October 3, 1966 to its first registered owner, Mr. Bernard Visnick, Mattapan, MA, USA. This E-type has its original body with no rust or accident damage and has received only one repaint since new and in its original color. The interior is fully intact with a wonderful rich patina because of superb care for from new. This E-type has enjoyed only three owners from new, the last two both well-known in the vintage automobiles circles, its history is well documented. The first owner used the E-type until the mid-1970's when it was put into storage. It remained in storage until circa 2011 and its 2nd ownership. At this time, all mechanical components were meticulously refurbished but with an eye towards preserving the originality and integrity of the car overall. It received a complete disassembly, a totally rebuilt the engine, gearbox, rear end, suspension and brakes as well as a new stainless steel exhaust system and new wire wheels and tires. Today, this E-type runs extremely well and strong and with the feel that few restored examples will ever enjoy. Having been in the ownership of an expert Jaguar technician for many years, under the bonnet is excellent and detailed well. A perfectionist about the mechanical details, great effort went into it to make sure the car drove as well as it possibly could. Don't let the originality of this car fool you, this is a fully sorted example. This E-type is complete with original tool roll, factory jack in bag, original radio, original factory Dunlop RS5 spare tire (never used) and its owner's manual & warranty book in pouch that confirms the original owners name which matches the Jaguar Heritage Certificate. This is a superb E-type that has been cared for from new and which is perfect for any concours preservation class. It is extremely rare having been truly cared for and with originality in mind, something that is not easily duplicated. An automobile can always be restored, but this level of superb originality is a rare find due to the care that must be taken by all of its custodians from new. It is a truly unmolested Jaguar E-type.
