1972 JAGUAR E TYPE V12 SERIES III ROADSTER --Sable Brown with Beige leather interior, Tan carpets and Tan convertible top, 48,000 miles/Two-Owners from new!, 4-speed manual, Factory air conditioning, Wire wheels, JDHT Certificate, Original Window sticker, It is a matching numbers, First owner for 43 years and 46,000 miles! This V12 Roadster has led an exceptional and charmed life to date. It was sold new through T&T Motors, Inc., Edison, New Jersey with the following options: Chrome Wire Wheels, Whitewall Tires, Tinted Glass, Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio and a sticker price of $8,801.20. It’s original owner Ms. Evie Drapper kept this V12 Roadster for 43 years before selling it due to a problem with her left knee and no longer being able to drive it comfortably. Ms. Dapper received it as a college graduation present from her parents in 1972. Her parents owned a bus leasing and maintenance company dealing with the New Jersey Public School system. In a phone conversation between the previous owner and Evie shortly after he purchased the car in 2014, Evie told him “that she loved her parents very much and that this car was the favorite gift she ever received from them.” Her intention from the beginning was to keep the car in "Showroom New Condition" as much as possible. Any repairs or maintenance parts and materials were to be Jaguar factory parts and materials only. The car was always stored inside and never saw inclement weather. Wherever Evie was living, the car was stored inside of the shop that was in charge of maintaining the car for her. In 1989 -1990 Ms. Drapper had Grey Hills Restorations in northern New Jersey do a concours repaint. During re-assembly they polished the original chrome, re-installed all original glass and, replaced only the Connolly leather on the seats, the carpeting and the hood, all in factory correct colors and materials. The total bill for this work at the time was over 57K. In its most recent ownership, this V12 Roadster has resided in Colorado and has been owned and cared by a previous British Leyland representative who has enjoyed first hand knowledge of these Series III V12’s from their inception. During this ownership, it has received a bumper to bumper service of all systems to ensure it is one of the finest of its kind for road use or show. The original factory assembly paint can be seen on the engine, the original factory assembly wiring loom tag is still seen under the dash, all original spot welds can be seen throughout the car, the car shows no evidence of any crash or rust repairs. This is a very correct, original car that has three files to back its maintenance that has made it a proven award winner on the concours lawn. This Series III V12 Roadster is one of the last ones brought into North America with the 9:1 compression 314 HP engine and pretty small bumpers. All factory installed original smog equipment is present and working. Absolutely everything works on the car! The Dunlop tires have about 3K miles on them. The original jack, jack handle, brass wheel nut tool and jack bag are present as is the owner’s handbook. The exterior, interior, engine bay and boot compartment are stunning. This is truly an exceptional example of an early Series III V-12 E-Type with superb provenance from new. Video walk-around and road test: nGtdOr02Jgg
