Description for Jaguar E-Type 1967
1967OPALESCENT MAROON
SR I E-TYPE
JAGUAR, 4.2 LTR ROADSTER
Continually Voted by the Automotive World as
“The Most Beautiful Production Car Ever Produced”
Recommended in Automobile Magazine as a car to “BUY” and by the Wall Street Journal as a notable investment vehicle. As prices have been rapidly increasing (but have yet to peak) this a great car to purchase today and makes an excellent investment for tomorrow. European Open Cars/Roadsters are cited as the best performing class in today’s Classic Car Marketplace as there were fewer made than other Classic Cars making them more rare and therefore better investments.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Jaguar E-Type, known to Americans as the XKE, needs no introduction. Enzo Ferrari declared it “the most beautiful car ever made” and50+ years later the E-Type continues to be celebrated andhold its place in history.
The E-Type was introduced to the automotive world in 1961. The brainchild of Williams Lyons and a passionate team of advisors and designers, it was named E-Type as a descendent of the accomplished C and D-Types that had been dominating racetracks. Jaguar took what it learned on the track and applied it to the E-Type.The monocoque passenger compartment, tube framed engine bay and tilting hood came from the D-Type. The E-type’s 3,781cc double overhead camshaft inline six-cylinder engine, developed 265bhp at 5,500rpm. Three carburetors, a four-speed manual gearbox handled the engine’s immense power. Independent front and rear suspension coupled with four-wheel Dunlop disc brakes (with rear discs fitted next to the differential to reduce unsprung weight) kept the E-type nimble on road and track alike. At the time of it’s inception the E-type was one of the fastest production cars on the road, topping out at close to 160 miles per hour..
In addition to being an engineering stroke of brilliance, the E-Type was one of the most attractive, sensuous and evocative designs ever to grace an automobile chassis, described by one automotive critic as “sex on wheels”. A recent survey done by “The Daily Telegraph” echoed past critiques that the E-type is considered the most beautiful car ever built. It’s no wonder that the E-Type Jaguar has become one of the best classic car investments today.

· It is believed that the third or fourth owner had the car completely restored. It eventually ended up in the private collection of Michael Schudroff----Michael owns a high end classic car dealership in New York and maintains an impressive collection of European Classic Cars. It is likely that Mr. Schudroff restored the vehicle but this fact is not confirmed. His website shows the quality of his collection: https://www.carriagehousemotorcars.com/inventory.htm.
Michael sold the vehicle to a major auction house 8 years ago who sold the vehicle to its current owner; for whom we are selling the car.
