Description for Jaguar XJS 1988
I have owned this beauty for the last 6 years, and have put 10,000 miles on it. I have full service records dating back to 2012 (I’ve always had it serviced at Just Jaguar, a local Jaguar specialist), as well as some records that pre-date my stewardship. Without a doubt, this is one of the very best examples of a 1988 XJ-S in existence; it looks and drives great, has cold A/C, has passed every emissions check with flying colors, and is as sorted-out as you’ll find. It has Pirelli P4 tires (except the spare) that I purchased fairly soon after I bought it in 2012, which still have a great deal of tread on them. The car is all-original (starfish wheels, paint, leather, carpets, etc) except that I have replaced the stock steering wheel with a Mota-lita custom wheel, which has a great feel to it and seems to really improve the steering feel of the car, and it has a Pioneer head unit (CD, bluetooth, phone), new speakers (replaced the original 4” with new 4” as I didn’t want any cosmetic changes to the interior) and has a small amp and subwoofer in the trunk. The original Jaguar cassette deck and steering wheel will come along with the car, along with a car cover, two full sets of keys, owner’s manual and service records. Although the photos don’t do the wood justice, all pieces have been beautifully restored by Madera Concepts and look incredible. The windows have a light tint on them that was applied a few years back, so they look great with no bubbles or fading. Power antenna, power windows, power locks, heated seats/power lumbar, motorized seatbelts and automatic climate control all work flawlessly.
Service I’ve had done over the last six years:
- new steering rack, alignment, wheel bearings
- rear shocks, transmission mount
- fairly new battery
- new wiper fluid reservoir and pump
- climate control sorted out (compressor, dryer, refrigerant conversion, heater core, etc)
- power window regulator replaced, new window switches (cosmetic)
- Cooling system re-worked: new primary fan and auxiliary electric fan, re-cored radiator, thermostats, hoses
- new plugs, new stock distributor/rotor
- upper gaskets replaced, oil pan gasket replaced
- New brake pads all around, new front rotors, brake hoses, brake fluid flushes
- Regular annual maintenance always performed
