Description for Jaguar XK 1951
We are offering a 1951 Jaguar XK 120 Fixed Head Coupe with particular VIN 679042 which makes this the 42nd left hand drive car produced. I purchased this car many years ago with intentions of restoring but life changes have convinced me to let this one go. Best described as a barn find it requires a total restoration but is a great starting place. Found here in Atlanta Ga. it still has its 1975 tag when last on the road. We don't have a Heritage Certificate but the following is the indicated data. Motor # W 3556-8 both on head and block. Body number J 1409 and gearbox number JH 7937. Please see all my photos to confirm. We rebuilt the starter last month and actually got the motor to run for about 10 seconds by changing the oil cleaning the points and filling the carb bowls before the fuel leaked out. Happy to report no bad engine noises and oil pressure on the guage. There are no radiator hoses or bottom crank pulley so that where we stopped. Correct Smooth valve covers and Air cleaners which are a Can located in the inner fender. The car Steers well and goes in and out of all gears. Wiring harness is toast as well as a Non Jaguar Fuel tank. The Body is very straight with some apparent damage to the left front fender. The doors open and close but need adjustment. Floors and Sills have rust but A and B pillars ok. Trunk Lid wood bad on bottom. Has Correct Tach. Spedo and combo guage. Original leather seats poor condition but there. No door panels. remnants of original carpet. Some wood inplace and other pieces shown in photos. Missing Windshield Glass. oth Door Glass but has rear quarter glass and the important Rear window glass in good condition. Missing The Gearbox cover and horn button. Frame good condition with no evidence of damage. Only bad spot where the sway bar mounts to the frame on the passenger side. ee photo. Its difficult to describe a car requiring a total restoration. I have described honestly and to the best of my knolodge. So my photos should give any potential buyers an idea of condition. We welcome any questions you may have and invite inspections before the end of the auction. No inspections after the end of the auction. We have over 50 photos if needed. Serious bidders with less that 15 feedbacks please contact me before bidding. I have dealt with too many NON Paying bidders in the past and don't need the Grief. Non refundable $1000 deposit within 24 hours of the close of the auction. Balance due within 7 day unless other arrangments made. Payment in Cash. ire Transfer or Bank Check. I have a Clear Georgia Registration on this car in my name. Georgia was a non title state and this acts as a vaild proof of ownership. I have sold other vehicles with this form of title and will transfer to any state or country. We reserve the right to end the auction early. Shipment the responsibility of the buyer but I have experience in Exporting world wide from Atlanta Ga. Short term free storage. We will NOT disclose the reserve price sorry. appy Bidding
