Description for Jaguar XJSC 1988
NO RESERVE
Good car, clean title, lots of recent service, needs somewhere around $3k in work, needs to be towed due to brake pedal going to floor. Please bid accordingly.
Recent service:
-4 new tires and alignment (Otani EK1000 215/70R15 98 V Tire)-New front and rear brake pads and rotors (inboard rear brakes, rotors next to differential not behind wheels)
-Front inner and outer tie rods
-Oil change (Amsoil 10w40 full synthetic with high zinc content, WIX filter)
-New NGK G-Power platinum spark plugs and plug wires
-Rebuilt and flow-tested original fuel injectors at Hurst Injector Service (all have identical flow rates now)
-Replaced all rubber fuel lines connecting injectors to fuel rail, clamps, seals, etc.
-New fuel filter
-New Fel-Pro valve cover gaskets
-New accessory drive belts
-New throttle enrichment microswitch on throttle pedestal
-Re-dyed convertible top
-New convertible top window
-New wiper blades
-New coolant temperature sensor
-New WIX air filters
-Upgraded rubber half-moon seals at rear of valve covers to billet aluminum machined inserts
-Upgraded plastic throttle shaft bushings to press-fit ball bearings (not bushings)
Future areas to address:
-The AC blows warm air
-There is no carpet in the driver and passenger side footwells
-There is a slight shake in the steering wheel at higher speeds - I assume the wheels need to be rebalanced
-Cruise control does not work
-The car only comes with two ignition keys, does not include door/glovebox/trunk key
-The automatic retracting seatbelt on the passenger side stays in the rear position and does not move forward when the door is opened. It is still completely usable, just does not slide back and forth. The drivers side retracting seatbelt still works
-There are some minor squeaks and rattles from the rear suspension when driving over road imperfections (will probably need new bushings eventually)
-Radio needs to be reset (key in acc position, radio power on, leave on for 1hr, type in code from card in glovebox, radio will beep if not successful or turn on if successful)
-The electrical system drains the battery which will become completely dead within a month to the point of requiring replacement. I would recommend consistently using an automatic battery charger/maintainer or installing something like a “PriorityStart!12-Volt-Pro-SP Automatic Battery Protector.” This device will automatically disconnect the battery from the electrical system when it drains to 11.7 volts
-Slight exhaust leak, audible on drivers’ side. Still drivable, but noticeable
- Needs new brake master cylinder (pedal goes to floor)
