First let me say I will be trying to describe this jeep to the best of my ability, y son and I bought this together ( he wanted a jeep for week end driving ) now his attention has turned to graduate school. We bought this jeep looking just as it is with a few things added. 1978 Jeep CJ 5 with a 304 V-8, speed. This jeep looks awesome, uns great dependable and drives great. Let me say right off that it is no show jeep but with a little more work it sure could be, or am I a mechanic. The jeep its self is super solid with no rust, ll steel I would refer to this thing as never been off road to any degree, t is just to clean from top to bottom and has been preserved very nicely for a 1978. The motor was rebuilt by the previous owner and has under 3,000 miles on it. The odometer reads 42,547 which I'm sure has rolled over. It has angle plug heads and 4 barrelcarburetor with HEI Distributor. It runs very strong we have both took week end trips of 6-8 hours with no problems and is dependable andmechanically sound.I have had it in four wheel drive to test it and it works as it should. It had been repainted when I bought it as well, aint looks great and shines you will how ever notice in the pictures the hood has a couple or few bad spots not eye bruising does not bother me but wanted to mention it. The rest of the body is great with no apparent repairs. It has a new exhaust system, believe cherry bomb exhaust coming out to the back of the jeep, ounds great. I have done some rewiring under the hood andunderneath, had found some frail wiring so I replace it, s well I installed a kill switch to kill all power at the battery for safe storage. All the lights and signals work. It has a GM tilt column. The speed odometer does work but most likely needs a new speed cable as the speed is off. The jeep drives great and like a jeep should, did put a new steering box on as the old one had a little to much play. The brakes work as they should with no problems stopping the jeep. The floors are solid, teel with no problems although it could use carpet or a coating for eye appeal. The seats are a racing type with seat belts the seat covers looks fine to me but the buyer may choose new covers. I installed a new GT steering wheel that looks good. The tires are newer with little wear. Underneath the jeep is clean as well with no rust very solid and again appears to never been off road type jeep. The jeep has a nice stance with no lift of any kind. Now for things I would consider that will need to be finished or fixed. The gas andtemperature Gage are not working, he radio has no speakers and is not hooked up, he heater box and cables are not hooked up, e only intended on driving this in good weather so heat is not a big deal to us, owever it does have a top that comes with the jeep. Under the hood could use some dress up, ot fancy looking nor repainted when the engine was out. The motor does not use or leak oil but underneath at the bell housing there is a small leak coming from inside the housing which is just a seal and not leaking to a degree where it needs any attention. I do not want to build this jeep up in mydescription to be something it is not and at the same time present this jeep as it is and in very good condition that easily be a show level jeep. We looked for a while and this jeep is very nice and super solid driver I get nothing but thumbs up when driving it as well the power and sound gives it attention. I do have a clean Tennessee title in my name and sons name. My reserve is 9,500.00. I'm sure I left somethings out but if your a jeep or car person then you already know what this jeep is and yes the jeep looks as good as the pictures. Once payment is received I will make the jeepavailable for transport close to the interstate. Transportation cost of the jeep is to the buyer. The title will be mailed to the buyer. I would not be afraid to drive this jeep anywhere. I will be happy to try answer any question you may have.
