Description for Jeep Wagoneer 1979
1979 jeep Wagoneer401/th400/quadratrac/dana44/dana44
401 is cammed (summit brand just before needed a stall converter), hromo trick flow pushrods, unati aluminum roller rockers, eads were machined for ARP rocker studs, nd comp cam lifter designed for more oil to the cam... it was rebuilt before me so i dont know what was all done then but it was over revved a while back so i rebuilt the top end basically... edelbrock intake manifold... holley electronic choke carb looks to be a 650... chevy 93 amp alternator swap... MSD wires... HEI distributor... brand new starter, tarter solenoid, ummit twin 2500cfm fans fit perfect and are ran with a Dakota Digital fully programmable fan controler that actually reads off the OEM temperature sensor... couple old fancy chrome things...
Th400 shift fine and has fancy paint that looks a bit older so may have been gone through at same time as motor...
Front dana 44 has been SOA swapped... front has over the knuckle steering... all new tie rods are in the back never installed... needs an alignment so im assuming prior owner decided it needs all new joints... all goes with it...
Rear dana 44 is SOA... whoever did it installed the springs back in backwards.. so the axle is shifter forward... stupid mistake... easy fix... has a helper spring... he bought brand new 3in full leaf packs from RC for when they are swapped back around... go with the jeep... rear driveshaft is custom SYE style...
00 winch wire ran to the front and rear on a solenoid system with dual hitch points for a slide in winch... nice switch control box ran to under the hood with well done fuse and relay system for lights and i tied the fan in as well to turn on if wheeling...
Front and rear custom bumpers but were very well done... tire carrier and all very strong...
Floor was entirely LineX'd and done RIGHT... no holes... all very strong...
Rear and front passenger seats are near mint... driver seat is not original and a bit rough...
Door panels are rough on the bottom being cardboard...
Dash is near mint...
Body has very little rust... the one or two places it does ive seen replacement panels for... all glass and chrome is good... few dents, ings, nd some old skimming of bondo that is now obvious... but not in bad shape at all...
Drove it all this weekend with very little issues... 70mph all day long if ya want... only thing that needs address is the starter doesnt like to spin the motor over when its warm... i think its a timing issue... maybe a weak battery... but i dont have a timing gun anymore so ive been adjusting by feel...
Two back tires are new however ones a bfg at and another some kind of MT... front dont match either of the rears and are about 40%...
Nice rig... im building a LS3 buggy so really hate to cut this one up... be an awesome truck for someone... even thought about keeping and just buying another cab lol...
If you shop fully restored waggys they bring 20k to 25k... this is a great start!!
