1994 Jeep Wrangler 4 cyl, 5 speed 4WD

I am listing up for sale my 1994 Jeep Wrangler. This is a 1994 Jeep Wrangler with the soft top. It has the 2.5L 4cyl engine and a 5 speed manual transmission. I bought this Jeep to serve as a weekend toy/nice day daily driver. My intentions were to drive the Jeep to work with the top down on nice days and on summer weekends, nd then to use my 02 F-150 to drive in winter. However my wife's everyday car has had some issues and it's time to buy her a new car so the Jeep must go.

This is the tried and true Jeep Wrangle YJ. It has the 2.5L fuel injected 4cyl engine with a 5 speed manual trans. The entire drivetrain runs excellent. The odometer shows 249,000 miles but I just don't think that's right. This Jeep drives way too well and has too little rust underneath to have that kind of mileage. I could obviously be wrong but I've been wrenching on and driving old cars for over 30 years and this little Jeep just doesn't seem to have that kind of miles on it. The motor was definitely rebuilt at some point. I took pictures of the side of the block and cylinder head where a machine shop had definitely placed their stamp on it. The motor is very clean and runstoo strong and well to be a tired 249,000 mile motor. But, ecause I don't have any documentation,unfortunately I just don't know how many miles this little Jeep actually has. But it runs super strong for a 4cyl and burns no oil. It's even really good on gas. A full tank will get me about 300 miles of local driving.

The transmission shifts super smooth. I know that a lot of older YJ's had issues with the transmission losing 5th gear but not this one. It shifts through all 5 gears easily without any noises or grinding. I think that perhaps when the motor was rebuilt the trans was overhauled too. Again, t just shifts too nice to be a 249,000 mile trans. The rest of the drivetrain is in very good condition. The 4WD works and there are no noises whining from the rear differential. Like I said just a solid little running Jeep. The motor has recently had a new radiator installed along with a brand new exhaust system from the manifold back. This exhaust system includes a new catalytic converter, uffler, nd 02 sensor as well. All have been replaced within the last 5 months. It has a valid PA state safety inspection good through May of 2016. When the inspection was done all new rear brake lines as well as the flex hose to the body were replaced. New fuel lines have been installed along with a new fuel filter. When the radiator was changed I also installed new upper and lower hoses as well as a new thermostat. The steering is super tight. This little Jeep doesn't wander all over the road like some 4WD vehicles. It handles quite well. Honestly it really is just a lot of fun to drive.

The body on this Jeep is pretty darn good for a 21 year old Jeep. The frame is SUPER solid. If you know Jeeps, ou know that YJ's had a common rust issue along the frame near the rear leaf spring shackles. Take a look at the pictures as well as the video I shot, his Jeep has no rust on the frame, loors, r even the area where the transfer case hangs. A previous owner must have either stored the Jeep indoors or washed off the road salt VERY well every time he used it. The floors are super solid having never ben replaced. I've taken several pics of the floors as well as covered the area in my video for you to see. I removed the original dirty carpet from the Jeep and I personally used Monsta-liner on the entire inside of the Jeep. Monsta-liner is a roll on bed liner type material that isn't affected by rain, un, r UV. It's a super durable, trong sealer for truck bed floors and Jeep tubs. I did the entire inside of this Jeep with Monsta liner to protect it from the elements.

The interior is in OK condition. The driver's seat has a tear right where the drivers rear end sits. The passenger seat is slightly tearing in the same spot. A cheap set of seat covers would definitely cover the areas but honestly since it's a Jeep and they are rugged and cool, never felt the need to have seat covers. The rear seat is in decent shape and it does flip forward for more storage room or if necessary, t can be removed entirely. The dash is in OK shape with one little stress area but otherwise all the dash lights work as well as the gauges. The oil pressure gauge sometimes bottoms out but then bounces back and I've read online that after time the connections on the back of the gauge can get dirty and send poor signals. Other than that the rest of the gauges work fine.

Inside the Jeep the heat and defrost work fine. I have an aftermarket center console mounted between the seats, nd an aftermarket stereo with a sound bar on the roll bar. The stereo does have an Ipod adapter allowing you to play music from your Ipod if you so choose. The entire soft top is brand new. It's a Bestop top and all the zippers work fine and it really does keep the inside of the Jeep dry in rainy weather. The top comes down in about 10-15 minutes and when it's down I have a relatively new bikini top that goes with the Jeep. If you've ever owned a Jeep before you know that Jeeps are an absolute blast to drive with the top down.

The body of the Jeep is in OK condition. There is rust along the tops of both fenders and the passenger side fender does have a rust hole that I have pictured. If you are not a body guy, ew fenders can be had here on eBay for about $150 each. The rest of the tub is pretty solid. There are 2 small rust spots along the bottom of the tub behind the rear wheels, ut they aren't rusted through yet. Other than that it's got a few dings and scratches here and there but honestly, t's a 21 year old Jeep and I was never bothered by the rust or dings. I figured I'd fix it one day and paint the Jeep at the same time but I need to get my wife a new car. She's driving my pick up while I drive the Jeep.

Overall this is a very solid little Jeep that has some decent extra's like new top recent inspection, ew exhaust, ood 30" tires, ew radiator, nd the Monsta-lined floors. If you don't want a show Jeep or just like your Jeep to be dirty, hen it needs nothing. Just turn the key and drive. I've taken 2 video's of the Jeep which I will be posting to show you how clean it is underneath.

I am well aware of the fact that this Jeep isn't perfect and has some visible rust. The paint is mostly original looking and yet showing it's age in other areas but again, his is a Jeep and not a show car. Jeeps can look patina and be cool. It has a lot of positives as well as a valid PA state safety inspection. You can buy this Jeep and enjoy the heck out of it without ever fixing the rust spots or even shooting it with paint. If you want to restore it then you have a great base to work with as the frame is solid as a rock and the drivetrain is solid. I am listing the Jeep with a very fair reserve.
