Description for Jeep CJ 1959

This is a very solid very rust free Arizona Willys CJ. It came from a ranch up in the White mountains and aside from a few dents and dings is a real straight original survivor. It has a fresh Iron Duke 4 cylinder engine that runs like a watch. It still has the factory transmission and transfer case as well as a PTO. There is a gigantic winch on the front that runs off the PTO, but the driveshaft is missing. It also has a very sturdy tow bar mounted to the front bumper. I bought this from a retired Jeep guy here in Phoenix and got it running after sitting a few years. I was amazed at how nice the motor is. Unfortunately I didn't clean out the gas tank first and sucked up enough old fuel and crud to plug up the carburetor. It will fire right up with fresh gas poured in it, but it will no longer run off the tank. I drove it around a little bit and the trans all seemed to work well, but the brakes are out and I never really got it beyond crawling around the property here. I do have all new wheel cylinders, master cylinder, brake hoses and the kit to put the system back together. It all goes with the Jeep. The best thing about this truck is that is really unmolested. It is what it is supposed to be. I actually like the patina as-is and was going to leave it. I have the original seats in it that are all good with solid springs and frames, but I also have a set I bought at a swap meet that still have good usable upholstery. This has the original fuel tank in great shape that is not beat up or rusted out. Even the tool box under the passenger seat is very solid with its factory paint all intact. It has the original gauges that I seem to remember all working and again the dash is not all cut up for radios or anything else. It even has the factory keys. This has the factory guards still installed over the windshield wipers and also the little catch lock for the windshield when it rests against the hood. This really just has not been screwed with. This comes with the full steel all weather top which has two rear barn doors that go all the way down and replace the tailgate. It has both steel side doors with roll up glass windows and a set of cloth doors for more mild weather. I like them open without the top, but is is rare to find the closed top still in good condition. I need to say that the glass is mostly cracked or broken out, but it is all flat glass and the mounting hardware is all there. I've had this for 5 years and keep thinking I'm going to get to it someday, but I am letting go of some of my collection and reluctantly must go. This is an easy restoration project whether you want just a great run around car or it is solid enough and intact enough to return it to it's full glory. It is for sale at no reserve with a modest starting price. This could be running and driving down the highway in a matter of weeks and the floors, rockers, tub is all solid no rust Arizona steel.
