Description for Jeep Cherokee 1988
Condition: Interior is excellent throughout (see photos) Headliner needs re-glued, other than that I see zero flaws with this interior, very well kept Jeep. All dash functions work except the clock. Tires are ok but may need replaced in a few thousand miles.Motor: Runs great with no knocks, leaking of oil or other fluids, very nice.
Air conditioner does not blow cold.
Transmission: Shifts smoothly and shifts into the various 4-wheel drive gears smoothly.
Body: Has some bubbling of paint in spots (paint only - this Jeep body is not rusted through) Former owner included enough paint to repaint it (DuPont Chromabase BC / Chrysler Colorado Red - See Photo) that comes with this sale. You can have your preferred paint shop spray it on or do it yourself. Was told this paint is costly ($600 - $700) for what is pictured. Former owner did some over-patch of a few of the paint bubble spots (see photo) Again, these bubble spots are NOT rusted through.
History: Traded my classic, vintage car for this Jeep. I know little about it except for the fact that it is in very nice condition. I've driven it approx. 200 miles since obtaining it with no issues, it seems to ride and shift with no issues. Looking up on the web, the NADA evaluation of this Jeep, it would fall into the "Average Retail Value" which would put the value around $7,048.00. So the $4200.00 I'm asking seems very reasonable for this Jeep.
Overall, this Jeep is in very nice condition for being nearly 30 years old, you'll probably not spot another in the condition this one is in, or very rarely anyway. If your looking for a vintage Jeep Cherokee this is the one you want, only needs small things done to it body-wise to really stand out above all the others. Or drive it as it is, it needs nothing done to it to make it your daily driver. It should last a long time, seeing it on has 51,000 miles on it!!
Mileage may increase before sale due to occasional driving of Jeep.
