Description for Jeep CJ-7 1984
Hi - we're selling our 1984 CJ7 Jeep 4wd with just less than 120,400 miles on it, and the mileage is going up slowly each week as we drive it around. It has the original AMC 258 inline 6 cyl. engine that runs smoothly, and a 4-speed manual transmission. It has a hard top, hard full doors, and newer Bestop black denim front seats. There is no backseat.
The Jeep is mostly original throughout - except that there's an approx 2" lift to accommodate the 32" mud tires.
The owner before us who had it for decades sprayed the entire exterior and interior with Line-X or Rhino Liner a long time ago, and that seems to have really helped stop the spread of rust. There are several areas of bubbling under their surface (presumably from rust) but the body is still quite solid, with no holes. We tend to keep the rear hatch on the hard top closed because of rust around the hinge area.
It spent most of its life in Summerville, SC, and we brought it to the Charlotte, NC just a few months ago during our household move. It is titled in NC.
These were only made from 1976-1986, so here's your chance to own a piece of history, and the values on them keep going up too.
This is a 33 year old original CJ - and it should go to someone who knows what they're getting into.
It's really fun to drive as-is or you can use it as a restoration project.
Within the past 16 months, our Jeep has gotten new belts, new hoses, a new alternator, new fuel pump, new distributor, new set of spark plugs and wires, a new ignition control module, and a new solenoid. We also have a few more brand-new parts that haven't been installed yet - including weatherstripping all around, New OEM windshield wipers, new rear view mirror, a metal gas tank, and a new OEM windshield that is still sealed in the box.
We have it for sale locally as well, so we reserve the right to end this listing at any time.
