Description for Jeep Wagoneer 1976
Here is a very nice example of a 1976 Jeep Wagoneer that spent most of its life in the dry climate of eastern Oregon. It's a Quadratrac 4WD "Base Model" with the bullet proof AMC 360 V8 3-Speed Automatic combo. Options: Power Steering, Roof Rack, No A/C (Sorry, but hey more power!).I bought this Jeep with the intent of making it into a second driver, but I have another project that I'm really trying to get on the road right now and I do need to thin the herd. This Jeep is virtually rust free and original-ish which is why I bought it on the west coast and brought it east... plus the sand tan is an awesome color. The only rust from what I can tell is at the rear arch and are visible in the pictures, the floors and frame are solid. Runs and drives great though the carb could use some fiddling. The previous owner purchased it from the second owner and he was told that it only had 80,000 miles. I can't say for sure if it's rolled over, but right now the odometer reads 86,000 miles. I've only had the Jeep for about 6 months. The speedometer/gas gauge hasn't worked since I've owned it and the PO removed the head unit for some reason but I do have another one to include in the sale. I have not looked into the speedo/fuel gauge issue but my guess it it's probably related to the cluster since both aren't working and probably not a very difficult fix. Also the rear window regulator isn't getting the rear window all the way up. It's a common problem that again I have not had the time to fix but I do have the parts to include in the sale. Otherwise everything works as it should and it's very fun to drive around town.
The bottom line is that this Jeep's a driver and therefore it's not show quality. However it's a solid example of a Wagoneer on the east coast and pretty original. It will have flaws and need some work because it's 41 years old. But with a little elbow grease it could easily be worth 12 - 15K. I wish I had more garage space/time as I wouldn't sell it. But, if you want to own this super cool example of one of the first SUV's, contact me with any questions you might have. The Jeep is registered/titled in NJ but currently stored at my garage near Fishtown in Philadelphia, PA.
NOTE: The pictures with the Washington license plates were taking by the previous owner when I bought it. It's been in my garage ever since, coming out occasionally on nice days so it looks virtually the same. I included a recent pics of it in my garage which isn't great so you get the idea. Happy Bidding!
