Description for Jeep CJ 1976
Prior to my purchase of the Jeep back in August of 2015, the vehicle belonged to two members of the video production unit of the Netflix show, "Bloodline", which was filmed in the Florida Keys. The Jeep was also featured in scenes on the show.Bloodline (TV series)The couple who I purchased it from did a tremendous job on reworking the entire drive train.
This Jeep has an amazing power plant! a big, beautiful 340 CI V-8 that has been completely rebuilt with less than 5,000 miles on it. Upon starting her up you'll first hear the deep throttle of the Hooker headers. Lift the hood and you'll be greeted with glistening chrome braided wires and hoses, chrome Edelbrock valve covers, chrome Holley air cleaner. Look closer and you'll see the real power of the Edelbrock manifold, Holley dual carb system and so much more.
In 2017 I dropped the CJ off at Planet Offroad in Kendall, FL. Planet Offroad has been in business and in the same location with the same owner (Luis Fuentes) for almost 30 years now. They ONLY work on Jeeps!
Luis was excited to get the Jeep and kept it for 3 months while he painstakingly restored the body and frame.
All bushings and mounts are new. There is NO rust or Bondo anywhere on this Jeep - nothing but metal. After getting everything complete Luis applied multiple layers of beautify yellow paint to the exterior and black coated everything on the under body and floor pans.
Everything on this Jeep has been touched. It is in near perfect condition yet it can be an everyday car.
Inspections are gladly and proudly welcomed.
I had the privilege of starring in "Violinist of Arcade Fire", Sarah Neufeld's music video for "We've Got A Lot." (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzDelkXDKyU) Upon arrival in my CJ the director of the music video fell in love with the Jeep. Throughout filming I drove him and Sarah throughout Miami and we incorporated the Jeep throughout filming to convey the charismatic youthful lifestyle that the video was about. The vehicle was featured in numerous scenes. The video was directed by Jason Last, whose client list includes Kanye West, Nike, and Chanel.
The most wonderful thing about this car is when you take off the top and the doors. Driving becomes more than a task. It becomes this beautiful experience that is hard not to get lost in. Every morning I'd drive it to school and it would just open me up to the world and give me a positive outlook on the rest of the day. Every afternoon it went right back into the garage and was covered.
I can say for certain that the intimate experience of being behind that wheel cannot be compared to any other car. I hope one day to find myself their again when I am in the right time in my life.
