Description for Jeep Other 1971
Up for sale is my bobbed deuce n 1/2 (7 ton Jeep). I bought this machine a couple of years back from a guy who started the bob. and got lost in the middle of the build. After stabilizing the rear axle with some steel blocks I drove it home stiff (drove 750 miles on interstate. no problems other than the blizzard i drove through that shut down I-80 in neb) so that I could finish the job right. (I am an engineer that has been machining parts for the past 15 years with many custom builds under my belt) I was told when I bought it that it underwent a military upgrade around 2000 and did a short tour in Iraq. This machine runs like new with no problems so I tend to believe it was upgraded. However I received no papers to back this story up. All I can say is it starts and runs like it was built yesterday. No leaks. no problems I am aware of. I have never taken this truck off road. I bought it purely to finish the bob enjoy for a year or so and then re-sell. Rear axle rides on a full air ride suspension with over 12" of travel and the ability to run low air pressure due to the large diameter of bags used. That means flexibility and a smooth ride. Rides like a dream. Shock absorption is provided through the largest dual Rancho 9000 shocks available on each side of the axle. I have taken this truck to our local car cruise regularly. IT IS AN ATTENTION GRABBER. BIG TIME!!! Seems half the kids in the area have taken their pics with it. and i have watched people walk around 6 figure cars just to look at this beast!!!Engine: 465 continental multi fuel with the "whistler" turbo SOUNDS BOSSTransmission: 3053A SpicerTransfercase: Rockwell T136 27Axles: Rockwell FC240 HX11 ratio 6:72Tires: 18. 4-26 on 16" rim (bar tires) two are in excellent condition / two are in fair condition -have spare tire in fair condition as well. And yes. it has a custom camo paint job that includes a few ladies here and there. The camo was done really nice. Looks good. You can get in this rig and drive to any location tomorrow. If planning on driving for long distance I can put the small military rims and tires back on if desired. (50mph max with original rubber. 70mph+ reached with bar tires. rides smooth once tires roll out (bias ply) but I wouldn't recommend that for long distance. )Hit me up with an offer or partial trade. I like to barter. Price is negotiable.
