Description for Jeep Wagoneer 1989
You are bidding onA beautiful and rare color combination.....1989 Jeep Grand WagoneerThis Grand Wagoneer looks runs and drives great!- I have been restoring this rust free CA/AZ beauty for a couple of years bit by bit. So far I have done the following:- New paint (original factory color match) and some minor body work- Added HEI distributor/coil for better spark and fuel economy- New Door Seals all around- New Window Wipes all around- New hood insulation- New exhaust manifold gaskets- New Catalytic Converter - just passed AZ emissions test and is currently registered - (Historic Copper Plates)- Replaced all transmission and Transfer case input/output seals- Had the AC professionally converted to the current standard 134a along with a new condensor and evaporator....blows cold and steady. Done in 2015.- New Shocks- Replaced the original 1989 plastic Grill with the improved AMC/Jeep factory original ALL METAL chrome grill. A serious improvement over the chromed plastic fragile grill that came on some models- The previous owner had the engine rebuilt at 230K (20k miles ago) miles with hardened components so that it will run properly with Unleaded gasoline. Engine is tight and runs strong!- New Power Steering Pump and full flush of the system. This rare Gold Grand Wagoneer runs and drives wonderfully. Starts up right away. 2 pumps of the gas pedal (As it should be done to set the choke and squirt a bit of fuel into the manifold) a turn of the key and the powerful starter cranks the fresh 360 to life. One quick tap of the throttle then releases the choke and the idle comes right down to the perfect rpm. EXACTLY as it should be from the factory. Power is strong and the rig feels solid on the road. The power steering is very strong and you can steer it with your little finger. The turning radius on these is amazing and you can get it easily into any parking space easily. The rear power window works well from BOTH the dash switch and the rear key switch at the tailgateThe 4WD vacuum switch on the dash causes the vehicle to switch to 4WD and in about 30 seconds the light on the dash confirms this. The power seat and power mirrors both work wellDriver passenger and rear passenger power windows work well. The driver side rear window is not working and is likely short in the door switch. If you tap on the switch it will sometimes work. The power door locks solenoids do not all seem to have the strength to consistently lock and unlock all the doors. Rear driver and passenger doors are good but the other two do not always get the knob up or down. All solenoids can be heard working but the mechanism is sluggish and will likely need to be lubricated. The original factory AM/FM cassette stereo stopped powering on about six months ago. Not a fuse. I do no know why.The original factory windshield has a crack and a rock hit in it. See the pics!! A new windshield is $250 professionally installed. I never got around to having it done. The original woodgrain siding (Dark part) is in pretty good shape. The lighter wood trim is not in as good of shape and is the next item on my restoration to perfection. The matching vinyl wrap is less that $200 and can be installed right in the existing trim. OR you can buy the complete set of all new premium trim for $1100. As you probably know if you are looking at Grand Wagoneers completed restorations go for $25k and up. This Grand Wagoneer is very close to that level.INCLUDES: Huge stack of receipts and the original Factory Shop Manuals (See pic) . Also includes a complete extra set of factory original Jeep Grand Wagoneer wheels with snow/mud tires mounted on them. Factory floor mats in fair shape.PLEASE look at EVERY picture and you will have a very good idea of the great state of this car. Please ask as many questions as you would like and I will do my best to answer. You may inspect the vehicle in person BEFORE the end of the auction. All sales are final. I am listing the vehicle locally at the same time so the auction may end at anytime with no obligations to the current high bidder until the successful end of this auction or via Buy it Now.
