This car is very well documented on the internet and can be found by googling “Jalpa HLA1234”. Most everything I have done to this car has been documented on this website/blog.
This is a US spec Jalpa with a partial conversion to European specifications. Clear title no liens clean carfax titled and registered in California.
Located in San Francisco CA USA.
I have a very and well organized receipt file documenting the significant time and effort that’s gone into this car. It runs and drives amazing starts right up and runs/sounds like a beast.
If you are looking seriously at this car you know the US spec cars came with large steel air boxes that encase the carbs and make it nearly impossible to easily adjust the carbs. I have removed these air boxes and fabricated plates under the carbs to convert the linkage to European specifications including using the fiberglass European air boxes. The benefits are significant including visually being able to see the engine easy access to the beautiful 42 DCNF’s and better sound of the carbs inhaling air.
I have all the original parts to convert it back to the horrible US setup if anyone wanted to…..
I purchased this car in early 2012 and the following has been done under my ownership:
Carb conversion to euro specification including OEM euro air boxes
Rebuilt all 4-42 DCNF carbs
Engine out new Sachs clutch pressure plate throw out bearing guide bearing and clutch fork cam chain tension adjusted rear main seal replaced.
Powder coated engine cradle
New silent block engine mounts
All oil and radiator hoses and couplers replaced with HPS silicon hoses
MSD ignition
Distributor serviced
New fuel pump and filter system
Rebuilt alternator
All rear suspension components refinished
Plug wires distributor cap and rotor and plugs
Eurospares “Bravo” wheels with original OZ “corvette” wheels with P7’s in new condition
Shift shaft seal shifter aligned shifter shaft boot
Repack and seal CV joints
Reseal differential inner and outer seals
New custom aluminum radiator with dual spal fans
Black powder coated stainless exhaust system with gutted cans (sounds UNREAL)
Another full exhaust system with CA cats (passes CA smog)
New parking brake cable and pads
Waterpump seal and o-ring
Speedo and Tach rebuilt by Palo Alto Speedometer (no needle banana syndrome) accepts MSD tach signal
Rebuilt clutch slave
New engine mounts
Sampling bung on headers for wideband meter
Repaired and refinished expansion tank
Alternator and water pump belt
Sony MEX BT4000P. Bluetooth remote control Pandora USB Ipod controller phone capable 8000W Lighting Audio mounted under the rear seat carpet fold the carpet over it and you cant tell. Phoenix gold TI65 component speakers subs mounted in original location crossovers behind the speakers and remote tweeters above pillar Kicker Hideaway HS8 powered sub.
Prior to my ownership the owner did:
Powder coated headers
The car has aftermarket side skirts some Jalpa’s came with them looks like they have been on for a long time.
All new leather interior and carpet (looks and smells amazing)
Regular swepco oil changes and Sta-lube gear box changes.
The exterior paint and body condition are a 7 out of 10. The car looks stunning and gets comments all the time on the condition but it’s not perfect. I had a paint expert tell me it’s been re-sprayed at some point and the job was “ok” there are a few dings and dents but overall it presents very sharp and tidy. The door straps failed (common and there is a dimple on each side of the door leading edge. The wing also has the usual bubbles.
I do not have the jack and tool roll it has the spare but is missing the hold-down strap.
Here are some videos of the car.

The car has been to Concorso twice and placed 3 in the V8 category (out of 3 cars ha!)
Its appeared in a few magazines including Serrata Lamborghini Club Magazine and Sports Car Classic.
I am selling this car as I just bought a Diablo and just don’t need the car anymore. I might buy another one and bring it back to life in the future that is what I enjoy doing.
I will help with shipping but cost is born by the buyer.
$2000 deposit upon winning bid non-refundable if you want to look at the car or have it inspected please do so before bidding.
Lastly gentlemen while I have done a large amount of work to get this car in great driving shape you are bidding on a vintage Lamborghini which requires a fairly large set of balls to own. If you aren’t transporting yours around in a wheelbarrow maybe this isn’t the car for you. Then again you only live once……
I reserve the right to end this auction early.
Good luck
