Description for Land Rover Defender 1990
This is a desirable 3.5L V8 with LT-85 5-speed model that has had its interior restored but retains many original details throughout. It's legally titled and registered in Virginia and is in excellent mechanical and structural condition with only minor signs of corrosion.Paint is original with stylized "County" decals which are often lost on lesser examples. The bulkhead is in the original condition with no signs of oxidation from the outside. Wheels are original Rostyles that have been professionally banded 1"³ to accommodate wider, ore modern Defender-spec 235/85/R16 Goodyear MT/R's. Tires are less than 1,000 miles old.
The vehicle has a clean, ncracked dash, ood door trims and excellent upholstery. Carpets are brand new, ustom-made Exmoor Trim items which are matched by new seat foam and upholstery on the front seats, lso by Exmoor trim. These were finished to match the four original inward facing rear seats which remain in excellent shape. All electrics are functional except the rear wiper. Note the hard to find OEM style Land Rover head unit.
Though surface rust is visible in spots as is typical for these trucks, t is solid underneath with an original frame and new, ust-free rear crossmember. Furthermore, utriggers are very good and the bulkhead shows no evidence of rust from the engine bay.
Fitted with the original, ell maintained, over 3.5 liter V8, nd simple SU carburetion means less potential for problematic electronics. The LT85 5-speed shifts well with minimal layshaft whine, hile steering is among the best I have experienced in one of these cars. Additionally, rakes, uspension and four wheel drive system are all in good working order.
Documentation stretches back to 1990 and shows that the truck has never gone more than 6k miles without an oil change and inspection and/or service, epending on what was needed. Prior to exportation (for which paperwork is also available) at the end of 2014, he seller had the truck fully inspected and serviced by a local Bristol Land Rover specialist, ho found the truck to be in good order. Note as well that sale includes the original tool roll and jack.
