Description for Land Rover Defender 1986

I'm selling my mint condition Land Rover 90 V8. It is an original factory built V8, nd has spent the majority of its life in Valencia, pain. The result of this has meant that it has been beautifully preserved. This is a non-sunroof model, hich is very, ery rare. The benefit of this one is that the tops of the doors are removable (Series Land Rover Doors), o during the summer months they can be removed and stored ready for the next winter. This is a fantastic modification as per the attached pictures.
The engine was fully rebuilt in 2012. The rebuild consisted of a complete tear down, nd rebuild with the addition of high lift cams, shcroft refurbished LT85 manual gearbox (newer generation), ew clutch kit, ew timing chain, ollowers, ittle ends and composite head gaskets. The rebuild also included an EFI conversion which was completed with all new parts (Mark Adams ECU and Air Flow Meter). This conversion make it incredibly fast, eliable and smooth to drive. I would describe this engine as being one of a kind, nd the sound is like music to my ears. You can easily cruise at 80+ mph on the interstate which is a vast improvement from others you will see.
The paint and bodywork is pretty much perfect. I regularly wax the car, nd all panels are completely blemish free. As I explained above, t has Series doors (early Land Rover generation). This was a decision and preference made again for living in a warmer climate, s the tops are removable. The doors themselves, ear included, re all like new. The only small point which could be criticized potentially is that there is some slight corrosion in each of the foot well plates under the mats, ut nothing that needs addressing straight away by any means. This is also a very simple fix.
The Chassis and underneath of this 90 is like new (as per the attached pictures). It has never been welded and nor will it ever need to be if it is kept in the condition that it has been for all these years. I've had the car inspected on several occasions, nd people have been amazed at the condition. Chuck at the Atlanta Land Rover Specialists (The Shop) was amazed at the condition. They have also inspected the car. Another nice point to note is that I've uprated the springs, o it sits 1.5 inches higher than stock.
This Land Rover really is one of a kind, nd will either make someone a beautiful daily driver, r an equally suitable investment, s the production of the Land Rover Defender stopped in the UK on Friday January 29th 2016 (very sad). All of the work has been done to the very highest of standards, ut all 100% sympathetically. The vehicle has covered all off its miles on road and has never heard the word "Mud" mentioned in all of its 30 years of life :-)
Completed work:
Recent service, ew spark plugs, oter cap, ransmission oil, ifferential oil, nd new high performance battery.
Newly rebuilt engine, ncluding cams. cam chain, lutch, nd EFI.
New front rotors/discs, ncluding pads and rear shoes.
New land Rover interior mats.
New wheels.
New door cards.
New door mirrors.
New headlights.
New heavy duty hitch/towbar.
New rear door hinges.
Diff guards front and rear.
Steering rack guard.
I legally imported it to the US, t was delivered to the port of Brunswick which is where I picked the car up from and drove it back to Atlanta. I have all customs and export paperwork, long with alot of documentation.
The car gets a lot of attention and I receive many nice comments all the time. MPG is good and it gets around 350 miles to a full tank.
The car belonged to a very good family friend of mine in England and I had the opportunity to buy it. I was planning to keep it long term, s these vehicles make for a great investment, ut my job is relocating my family andtherefore I have to regretfully sell her :-(
Please contact me if you have more questions. We are located in Atlanta (Decatur) within the i285.
Thanks for looking.
