Description for Land Rover Defender 1980

This is a 1991 Defender in excellent running order and ready to roll or further restore. I purchased it from the owner of the last 19 years after looking for a 90 for a few but unforeseen matters prompt sale. The beast is titled and located in Va. It has a 200 TDI diesel, 85/230 gear, ps, pb, & 5speed. It runs and drives excellentready to go cross country or the mountains. All electrical functional.

Since purchase, the normal 5 year maintenance was due. Thebeast had sat for a few years. Everything was still original equipment. The sub frame/cross members are very nice with someSURFACE rust only. Completely Sound ! Should be scuffed and painted again. Please not that the majority of the red in photos is Clay not Corrosion!

The work just completed to ensure reliable and safe driving was: all 4 hubs received new seals, 2 shaft seals, timing belt/tensioner, ALL fluids [water& oil] change, new filters, valves adjusted, new master cylinder, 1 rotor, rear brake cylinders and shoes, belts. front lines-ss, wheels painted, new general AT/3 tires[p235/85/16] all around plus spare, and any hardware needed. Just under $2500 but insures proper running and reliability. Worth it.

I have also purchased good condition roll up window doors, not shown in photos, along with hinges and strikers which are being installed this week. cost: $1100.00

needed: heater and ducts, r. side of dash and line, rear window tracks&gaskets, refurbish top, paint, possible front upper and outer fender skins. I have 2 niceleather seats and tracks. With this work done the beast will near a $30,000.00 Defender. If payment is thru paypal the buyer will pay the 2.9% "sellers fee."
