1988 Defender 110 Perentie FFR . The Perentie is the name give by theAustralian Military who orderer 2,500 Defenders . This model is an FFR (fittedof radio) 208 vehicles were made in this format . Car has had the radio taken ou, but it still has a heavy duty 24v alternator and space for 4 extra batteries in theside of the car .The engine is the original 3.9 4BD1 IsuzuDiesel . These engines were specified by theAustralian military for simplicit, andlongevity ( engine was serviced around 1500km ago with new filters fitted . They also specified that the cars be fitted with the 4 speed LT95 gearbox (land roversstrongest gearbox) . The engine and the gearbox are in superb conditio, all gears engage with no crunchin, engine pulls very well even at elevation . Top speed is between 72-76mph . The car is fitted with tow hooks forhelicopter transportation andincorporates a PTO winch in thefront (all in working order) . The chassis isgalvanized so there is no rus, the door bottoms / bulkhead and foot wells are in incredible condition no rot or rust . The canvas top is tired and not weatherproof although its in reasonablecondition (I do have some new exmoor trim canvas tops if the buyer would like one) . Also standard fir is ROP, roll over protection front bash plate below the winch .The doors are off at the moment as its great fun driving here in Colorado without them on . There are none of the usual Defender oil leaks . The body work is in good condition with theoriginal paintwor, there is the odd small dent though .In terms of drivability the car keeps up freeway traffic .I've sold 2 of these Perenties already this year and really are in adifferentleague to your standard Defender . Incredibly heavy duty and very reliable with the Australian upgrades .The car is located near Denver if anyone wishes to test drive and view .
