Description for Land Rover Defender 1994

Here's the full story... This Land Rover was damaged on the ship in October 1993 and rejected by Land Rover North America upon arrival at the Port of Newark. It appears a sea container fell on top of the roll cage assembly which in turn buckled the body panels from the force; the roll cage was crudely welded back together. It was then sold by the insurance company to Saw Mill Auto Wreckers in Yonkers, New York. A friend of the owner of Saw Mill purchased it and took it to his summer home in Guilford, CT - please note the Guilford Marina stickers on the windshield. I purchased the Defender in July 2011 with roughly 6,500 miles and drove it from Connecticut to Colorado where it has remained ever since. The Bimini half top was the only thing I had to replace after the 1800 mile trip.
The Defender is mechanically perfect, I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. It has a 5-speed manual transmission and the 3.9 Liter V8. I changed ALL of the fluids in the past couple years; including rear-end, transmission, etc. The undercarriage pictures show it still has the original muffler and catalytic converter embossed with the Land Rover logo. The BF Goodrich tires are all original and have the correct date stamp from 1993, the spare has never been used.
The Defender is all original with the exception of the rear jump seats, they were added by the owner in Connecticut. It has never had a stereo since I've owned it but all of the wiring is still intact to add a stereo. All gauges work including the tachometer and clock. This was a very basic optioned Defender and came with a Bimini half top and factory tonneau cover; the snaps are still present. I took the torn Bimini half top to a local canvas shop and the reproduced an exact match.
Almost ALL of the body panels have some sort of damage with the exception of the two front doors and rear cargo door. There is some hail damage on the bonnet (hood) and front fenders. I believe all of the glass to be original. I had purchased some of the body panels years ago in hopes of completing a full restoration which will be included in the sale.
I encourage interested buyers to call me to discuss 303-319-2997 Mike Interested buyers are welcome to test drive and inspect in Denver, Colorado.
