Description for Land Rover Defender 1989
You are looking at Land Rover Defender 90 2.5 Turbo Diesel (19J) with original paint. It is fitted with Factory Air Conditioning system !( Very good if you live in Florida)
This is a fully origina, British made LH Drive Defender, Ibelieveit was first sold in Italy, in December of 1989 and around 2004 made it's way to thehistorical capital of theSecond Bulgarian EmpireVeliko Tarnovo, where it was purchased from and shipped to USA.All the EPA/DOT inspection were passed and the car is located in Tampa, FL and comes with a clear FL title, ready to be legally registered in US
VIN: SALLDVBB8FA384142
217981 genuinekilometersfrom new or 135447 miles, engine starts right up smokes for about few minutes, until it reaches normal operating temperature, and then runs clean, It has plenty of power, 5 speed manual Transmission shifts easy, Locking Differential Hi/Low speed is great and it is fully functional. The frame was treated with Duplicolor Professional Rust barrier/Rust preventing Coating, I have plenty of pictures taken prior to the treatment and there was only minor surface rust - former British army officer advised me on coating it with used oil mixed with diesel "That's how we did it back then" he said, decided to spend the extra $$ for professional resultThe AC compressor kicks in as you can see from the Video, but the air coming out of the vents is not cold enough- possibly needs a charge, or R134a retrofit. ($250 for the kit on ebay)

Cosmetically, it could use some more attention, this is a 27 year old vehicle and as you can see some of the paint on the door panels is getting chipped, but I would rather leave this project to the next lucky owner, and after all, this is part of the fun owning a Defender.
Will be glad to assist with shipping to anywhere in continental US
