Description for Land Rover Defender 1982
VERY RARE LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110.1 of 2 imported in the US.
NO RESERVE.
Please, read carefully the description, as this Land Rover Defender 110 might ended up in your garage.
What's rare about the car?
ONLY 300 were made by Land Rover. Even fewer made with Left Hand Drive.
ONLY made in 1982. No other years.
ONLY Defender Land Rover to have 3 wipers.
ONLY Defender Land Rover to have an upgraded Felt interior.
ONLY Defender Land Rover to have twin alpine windows on the roof.
ONLY Defender Land Rover to have a 6 cylinders Diesel motor. That motor was used on the military version after 1982.
ONLY model to have a manual overdrive.
This 1982 Land Rover Defender has been imported by me, the owner, and I owned this car way before it landed in the US.
Needless to say, I know that car very well.
As mentioned above, this model of Land Rover Defender 110 was made only in 1982 and NO other year. Land Rover assigned the company called Santana to assemble the car with some very unique features. This model is called "Cazorla".
A detailed description of the car:
- Just 300 cars were manufactured. Out of the 300, fewer turned out to be Left Hand Drive and this is one of them. It is a factory Left Hand Drive.
- It's equipped with a powerful 3.5 Liters Diesel, 6 cylinders inline motor that was used later on, on military trucks. The motor is known as the Iveco engine.
- The engine is coupled to the Land Rover 4 speed gear box, Low and Hi ratio and a RARE manual overdrive. You can slightly downshift an intermediary gear without actually changing a gear. Works beautifully.
- The shaft is reinforced.
- Front axle is reinforced with a welded bar (see photo). Rear axle is reinforced too (see photo) and is made by Salisbury, a well know company specializing on heavy duty reinforced axle for military purpose.
- The chassis is a Land Rover Defender 110, 4 doors. The windshield folds down on the hood or can be removed, the top doors are removable, same for the rear door and the hard top comes off. At the end, you will get a car looking like a full flat convertible.
- An other rare feature. ONLY that model and ONLY the ones made in 1982 had 3 wipers.
- Only that model of Defender 110 had twin alpine windows of the hard top.
- Only that model of Defender 110 has the 4 vents on the roof.
- The car is equipped with a power steering and it's a damper acting as it. ONLY that model has this feature.
- The interior is straight original out of factory. You will be seating on a luxury felt covered seats. ONLY model of Defender 110 to have it and only in 1982.
- It's a 9 seater with removable rear jump seats. The rear bench folds to the front and opens up a wide cargo area.
- Originally, the car had 2 gas tanks, holding close to 50 gallons of Diesel but due to the European regulations, I removed one tank.
- The bush guard on the front bumper is factory.
This car has been through a full frame off restoration lasting a year. Fenders were off, floor panels taken off, hard top, roof doors seats, all taken off the body for a complete restoration. The paint has been hand wet sanded, hand polished. There is 150 man hours on the paint job and polish alone.
Rivets were changed one by one (see photo).
The galvanized side strips and windshield frame were restored to original condition.
I acquired the car in excellent condition back in the days, drove it periodically and has an actual mileage of 28397 Kilometers or 17645 MILES.
Along with the car, you will get the original tools, the owners manual, the repair shop manual, a Certificate Of Conformity (COC), a description of the history of the car, a CD with photos of the restoration.
I have a free and clear Title under my personal name.
Several of my cars were sold here on Ebay and my feedback reflects the quality of each and every vehicle I have owned. All my vehicle went through the tedious inspections such as Customs, Agricultural, EPA, DOT, Highway Patrol and the DMV.
I can help you with shipping and can keep the car, here, at home, in my garage for as long as you need, FREE of charges and after it's being paid. See conditions of payment in my listing.
The car is also for sale locally and I can / could terminate the listing without notice.
All questions will be promptly answered.
VIN IS NOT RECOGNIZED BY EBAY SO HERE IT IS: # VSELBCMS6AZ100470
Where is the 2nd vehicle like this one?
It was a 1982 Land Rover Defender 110 Cazorla, beat up, rusted, needing a complete restoration, without documentation nor owner's manual, without the jump seats and sold by a well known, nationally acclaimed auction house, for $16000 (NO RESERVE) in Tampa FL last April 2017.
I am the owner and wishing a Happy Bidding
