Description for Land Rover Defender 1993
Up for sale is a very nice Defender 110. As you are probably assuming from the price it IS NOT one of the original NA 500. This truck is located in Costa Rica BUT it is configured the same as the 500 that went to the States (gas engine etc. and is the only 1993 defender in Costa Rica) It may not be possible to import right now (I'm not sure what's involved it being NA spec) BUT in just over three years it will fall into the 25yr old category and will be able to easily be imported into the U. S. As it is currently is configured. I have bought a couple old trucks from Costa Rica and imported them and it is quite simple. You either ship or drive it in and at the border if it's 25yrs or older you have it inspected and pay about a 2% tax and you are on your way. Take the import papers you received to your local DMV to apply for what ever states title you reside. The truck is located here in San Jose at the countries premier Land Rover/ Land Cruiser dealership. I have an agreement with the guys at the dealership to list it in the US and handle sell for them as I've worked with them before with vehicles. It is a dealership that only deals in LRs in great condition. it has been gone through by their mechanics that were trained in the US. It is very simple to get a Costa Rican title in your name (takes around a week-10days. a ballpark 100. Lawyer fee and around 4-500. In taxes) I had seen the obscene prices these go for is the US and thought this would be a great opportunity for someone to buy one at literally a fraction of the price and maybe keep it down here for three years exploring this beautiful country and take a Central American trip (which I've done in a old toyota and was amazing) in three years and have a heck of a deal. If you are not the adventurous kind simply ship RORO (roll on roll off) to Miami for 900. Could also look at it as a three year investment. I would honestly buy it if I had the money but I've got one of the old BJ40 toyotas down here right now. The truck is in great shape but I took photos to show the 3 tiny blemishes it does have. One in a small scratch below the spare tire in the back. another is a small scuff on the front driver side fender and the last is a very tiny little ding ontop of the front passenger fender. might be hard to see but just wanted to show it. Also the pics show the side brackets of the luggage rack look to have been repaired at some point. It does not have a radio but other than that the interior is nice. Has 96000k which equals 59500mi. Would not accept the vin so I included a pic of it. I am currently here in Costa Rica and would be glad to pick you up at the airport and show you the truck. Think you can find round trips here for around 4-500. Feel free to ask questions. I am a honest person that aquired my feedback from selling classic trucks and small classic aircraft.
