Description for Lexus SC 1993
Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over 100 large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a dealer will post all but the most flattering of professionally finished photographs. We prefer to post the many photos taken of the car. in sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight. in order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree. West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional find of an all original southern California owner 1993 Lexus SC300 in its original 'Black Onyx' color paint with a light gray leather interior and an original 49K miles and boasting the rare and highly desirable 5 speed manual transmission! The SC 400 débuted on June 1. 1991 in the United States as a 1992 model. The SC 400's 4. 0 L V8 was the same engine as used in the LS 400 and was reported to have cost over US $400. 00. 00 in research and development. In July 1992. the SC 300. a smaller-engined version of the SC 400. premiered in the United States. The SC 300 had an acceleration of 0–60 mph in 6. 8 seconds with the 5-speed manual and 7. 2 seconds with the 4-speed automatic for all years. According to renown automotive journalist Bill Russ. the SC design was considered an extraordinarily influential design for its time. In stock form it is fun and special in the way an LS400 would be if you only had two doors and had manual shifting to keep you involved. The suspension is world class and very related to the 1993-1998 Supra. The drive-train is exactly the same as the 5-speed manual Supra's of those years. In the late 1980's after many market and consumer studies. Toyota decided to enter the luxury car field. Up until that time. with the exception of Honda's Acura line. top level luxury cars had mostly been produced by British and German manufacturers overseas. as well as Cadillac and Lincoln in this country. This model was crafted in Toyota's Southern California's Calty Design studios specifically for the North America automotive market. In order to broaden its luxury product line. Lexus introduced the SC300 in 1992. It combined the chassis and styling of the SC400 with a 3. 0-liter inline six-cylinder engine. It can be distinguished from its stable mate only by wheels and badging. With a little less weight from the lighter engine and only slightly less power then its V8-powered relative. the SC300 gives away little in performance and costs substantially less. Unlike its automatic-transmission-only V8 sister. the SC300 was also available with a 5-speed manual transmission. Equipped with the 4-speed automatic. the SC300 is a refined luxury coupe. With the 5-speed manual. the sporting character of the car is highlighted to perfection. The styling of the SC300 is neat. clean and functional. Its design was developed using hand-molded clay models rather than a computer. Its overall styling reveals a wedge influence. highlighted by some enhancing body creases and no hard edges. Low profile Goodyear Eagle GS-D performance tires mounted on newly styled 16-inch alloy wheels and large side mirrors augment the side view. Its short. high rear deck sports a discrete spoiler and new rear tail lamp treatment. while two large exhaust pipes more than hint at available power. There is a fine balance of luxury in the SC300. It is completely and tastefully outfitted with a host of convenience items - some expected. some unique. Among the expected are soft leather. upholstery. all of the power amenities. a highly visible electronic analog instrument panel. a very quiet automatic climate control system. and discrete wood trim. The unique items include easy access 4-link door hinges that allow the wide doors to open wide for easy access. Also. the front passenger seat electronically moves fore and aft to allow easy access to the rear seats. For custom comfort the driver's seat has ten-way power adjustments which. along with the side mirrors and tilt and telescope steering wheel can be pre-set for two drivers. The hi-fi stereo sound system has plenty of power and fidelity. The Lexus SC300 is equipped with dual front airbags. three-point seat belts. four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes. front and rear energy absorbing crumple zones. and a theft deterrent system. This sport coupe has impeccable road manners that are the result of refined suspension dynamics combined with solid chassis engineering. Large ventilated anti-lock disc brakes insure safe stopping on a variety of road surfaces. The SC 300 is a grand touring machine that is fun. and safe to drive - almost anywhere in almost any weather. The double-overhead cam. 24 valve. multi-port fuel injected. straight six-cylinder engine that powers this Lexus develops 225 horsepower. This nimble energy is delivered to the rear wheels via a very smooth shifting five-speed manual transmission. The stick shift adds a great deal of sporting character to the car. as well as added control on twisty roads and tight turns. While the engine runs quietly. the exhaust system imparts a powerful rumble. The Lexus 300 sport couple is high on quality and sets a benchmark for fit and finish. It offers everything a luxury car should. including the power and the feel of luxury. This is a beautiful stock example. owned since new by only one southern California owner who purchased the car new at 'South Bay Lexus' of Torrance. California with the added leather trim package and with the Lexus memory system. The car has its original window sticker with a thick file of service records from 'Lexus of Santa Monica' showing that at no time was any expense spared on this particular vehicles preventive maintenance. The timing belt was replaced in 10/2006 at 45. 92 miles and the car had been sitting covered in its original owner's garage since new. The car has a razor straight body with no accidents and a clean CARFAX report. The car has it's original factory 'Black Onyx' color paint and light gray leather interior which is in remarkably clean and in completely all original condition throughout. The engine is extremely strong and the 5 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears. a simply lovely car to drive. This is a rare opportunity to own a very rare and internationally desirable 1993 Lexus SC300 with the 5 speed manual transmission - owned by obviously only one very mature driver/owner since new with only 49K original miles! For further information contact West Coast Classics through EBay or on 310-399-3990 during regular California business hours.
