Description for Lincoln Continental 1947
Lincoln Continental Coupe. Purchased new on December 10, 947 for $5,153.60. The Continental was introduced as an exclusive, uxuriou, andcrafted automobile for the status conscious consumer. One of very few automobiles honored for design excellence by the Museum of Modern Art in New York and assigned the designation of “CLASSIC” by the Classic Car Club of America. Only 831 Coupes were built in 1947.I have book containing all documents from new including original invoice, wners manual, perators manual model 76H, epair manual V12 engine series H, incoln dealers original service manual, underseat heater/defroster, verdrive and electric clock brochure . All original to car. Also have conditional survey report, ewspaper sales ad and registration documents on second owner who purchased the car on Nov. 12, 987. The car was stored until January 1995. Over the next 7 years he spent over $52,000 in restoration. I have all receipts. The body shop body, aint and assembly alone was $31,995.84. All new chrome, ire harness, ires, ngine rebuild, tc. made up the difference. Ironic as it sounds he only drove the car a little over 200 miles when I bought it almost 4 years ago. I have his ad from which I purchased the car. Receipts show 2 repair orders for a stuck valve on #2 cyl. From not driving car enough. His neighbor, ho helped him sell the car informed me he was too old to drive and viewed the car as a piece of art. In the last 4 years I’ve driven the car 367 miles. From documents, ileage appears original. I just had the car fully serviced including rebuilding distributor as needed, ew plugs, une up and new kick down switch and overdrive switches (2). Cost $2165.00. Naturally, lder restoration showing minimal wear. Rust free spotless car with chrome showing as new, epaint of original Grotto blue paint still winning best of show in recent shows. Interior is spotless with small tear as seen in rear seat. ( stupid women at half time polo event) Radio hums but not working, nderseat heaters and separate defrost heater and controls work fine but no hoses hooked up. Car drives and handles well, specially with overdrive (second over in town) One lifter a little clicky at times. Clean California title, egistered and insured and fully drivable. Due to death in family, torage and age I’m forced to downsize.
Car is located 45 miles north of San Francisco/Oakland ports. I’m familiar with overseas shipping and will work with buyer on shipping/delivery at buyers expense. $500 non-refundable deposit within 48 hours (E-Bay) with balance within 10 working days (wire transfer, ashiers check) All funds must clear all banks prior to release of car. I reserve the right to sell vehicle subject to reasonable offer/sale. Due to age car is sold without any warranty. I’ve attempted to describe car honestly as I see it. Inspections are always welcome prior to bidding.
